Of the fifteen years since Cathy D. moved into her home in Mason, Michigan, the last five were especially difficult because of terrible water issues in her basement. After heavy rains her basement would become severely flooded. That is when she called Ayers Basement Systems for help. When inspecting her basement, they found some very unique conditions that would require some adaptation of their current interior basement drainage tiles to work. Typically, WaterGuard drain tiles are installed on top of the footing, but her home had been built with uncommonly thick footing. The crew then opted for an alternative method, which consisted of installing the drain by the interior edge of the footing to capture ground water, and a flange against the wall to collect any water seeping through the block walls. BrightWall panels, which fit snuggly into the drainage system, serve as a vapor barrier and help brighten up the stained basement walls. Cathy was very pleased with the knowledge, professionalism, and cleanliness of the crew and even more pleased with the results. Her basement was put to the test several times since then, by storms and snow melt, and her basement remained dry, clean and comfortable. I met the Ayers rep at the MSU Lansing Home Show and set up an inspection. A year ago I had contacted 4 other companies and none of them were interested in the job. Ayers had exactly the technology needed to fix things. I was VERY impressed with the foreman (Evan) and assistant (Austin). They were here twice; once for garage repair and once for deck piers. 2 other helpers were in attendance at various times and did well. Evan was very knowledgeable about the project and the options and instilled a lot of confidence. He and his crew worked smoothly and constantly, exhibiting an extremely positive work ethic. Both Evan and Austin quickly tackled physically demanding jobs and kept at them until satisfactorily completed. It was a pleasure to have young men such as these do the work and to be able to relax and know it was going to be done correctly. The jobs were a bit unique; a concrete block garage collapsing into the creek was stabilized, and a large deck that had tilted was restored to level and made secure. The deck overhung a steep creek bank and required some creative, difficult work. Evan and Austin are definitely valuable assets for the company. The crew attended to all details in a very systematic fashion. They cleaned up all that was expected of them. The quality of the work appears to be top notch.

I didn't even look anywhere else. Before the rep, Keith Bond, arrived, I had received an introductory packet with his bio and photograph as well as literature explaining the various processes the company uses, so I was prepared when the rep arrived to discuss my nees. After reviewing the packet and speaking with him, I had no doubts htis was the company to use. They wre very well organized and professional. The installation crew definitely "wowed" me. They went above and behind expectation, adding some grading to some low spots in the yard and repairing some foundation problems that were unexpected at no additional charge. The crew, Logan, Nelson and Alex and project manager Ty arrived at 9:00am. I was told they would arrive between 9-10am. Ty asked to see the area and reviewed rooms where vents were to be placed. Ty and the crew then covered the steps and floor in the basement with plastic. I appreciated Ty asking me if I had a preference on lower or higher placement of the vent at the bottom of the stairs. The crew was very efficient they cleaned up and swept after installation. Ty and the crew were very polite and professional. Ty reviewed how the dehumidifier works and took the time to answer other non related questions I had. Very good experience.
