We received a call from a worried customer looking for a solution to fix her bowing foundation wall. She made the right call trusting our foundation repair experts at Ayers, so we sent a crew to her home for a free inspection. Janice was told by our System Design Specialists that GeoLock Anchors would solve these issues. GeoLock Anchors will provide a long-lasting solution that will prevent any further inward movement of the wall. First, we install the interior anchor plate which sits on the inside of the foundation wall and will appear in your basement. Then we add a steel cable by drilling it through the plate, the wall, and the soil to a predetermined distance from the home. Finally, another plate is anchored to the other end of the cable in stable soil. Outside soil pressure caused this wall's bowing movement in the first place, so this solution will fix this. The cable can be tightened in the future, potentially straightening the wall. Janice was happy to have this foundation wall secured with a trustworthy fix!
Chester's basement was literally being supported by a stack of cinder blocks. The steel girders that make up the foundation of his home was sitting on a stack of dangerous blocks. If those blocks were to slip his house could potentially cave into his home.
To fix this our team installed SmartJacks to replace the the cinder blocks. SmartJacks are steel beams placed in small hole filled with ebbles for extra support. Each jack can hold up to 60,000 lbs and they are the only permanent solution to foundation support issues.
Have you ever seen a basement with walls that are leaning in? Hopefully not. But, it happens and can be fixed if you give us a call. This home in Cheboygan had that exact problem and we knew the exact discrete way to fix it. We fixed the issue with CarbonArmor. These engineered straps made for basements are 10 times stronger than steel. Carbon Armor is a perfect option for masonry walls, and if we are installing within tight spaces. Since we don't have to drill anything into the wall, this would be a great option for a homeowner in a tight neighborhood, or someone that has obstacles such as electrical or plumbing lines. Also, since Carbon Armor is so flexible it can handle any wall experiencing failure, and still allow for re-stabilization. This system will only be installed if the wall is bowing only in the middle and not the bottom and top. Carbon Armor also has an Armor Lock anchor system. This engineered system will ensure that the wall will not experience any inward movement at the top of the wall. Now the homeowner will never have to worry about bad foundation walls ever again.
PowerBraces are designed to permanently stabilize your homes foundation. This home had some water coming in and it was quite obvious the wall was bowing inward. These beams are zinc coated so they will not rust and they are made of steel. The system can be tightened over time as the wall moves. These braces also require no extensive digging or drilling so it's a great option.
The main floor joist in this small cabin was failing due to a rotting wooden support post. We replaced the post with SmartJack steel support posts to stabilize and lift the floor back to its original position.
