Ayers Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Kort noticed the corner of their garage was heaving, noticing water entering through a gap. Wanting the safest and fastest solution they contacted Ayers. Our resident foreman Blade was able to inspect the area and noticed other signs that the foundation was not properly supporting the house. Blade and his team installed Helical Piers around the home to reintroduce foundational support.

Helical Piers are a tool trusted by Ayers due to their non-intrusive nature compared to other foundational repair systems. The piers are long screw-shaped drives that are driven deep under the home at an angle. The drives keep going till they pass the weak soil and find new firm ground. The tops of the piers are capped with load-bearing caps that provide a flat surface for the home to rest upon.

James knew his basement did not have a reliable and efficient exit in case of emergencies and decided it was time to fix the problem. They recommended the installation of an egress window to provide a safe and easy escape. Egress windows are designed with built-in stairsteps and a polycarbonate safety cover to prevent accidents. The open hole sump is pretty common in basements. The only problem - besides a passageway to the depths of the black lagoon in your house - is the hole leaves your system vulnerable. Vulnerable to flooding, clogging, and general basement destruction.  These problems are only amplified when your home is dealing with iron ochre issues, a rust-colored sludge that builds up inside of your pipes, as this Omer, MI homeowner could attest.

Iron ochre was coming through the pipes of his open hole sump and clogging up the entire discharge system. All Ayers crew members are familiar with iron ochre and know which type of products will be effective in the fight against sludge. First, the team went ahead and installed a WaterGuard IOS perimeter drainage system. This WaterGuard system was designed with large drainage holes to prevent clogging.  Our TripleSafe (as seen in the after photo) sump pump’s reliability also makes it extremely effective against iron ochre. The two backup pumps included in the system make sure that the sump is continuously working, even if the main pump becomes overwhelmed or shutdowns from power failure. Extra pumps equal extra discharge and to actually get that water out, the system needed an additional discharge line. Lastly, an airtight lid was placed on top of the triple safe sump liner. It may seem simple, but it does a lot to ensure the proficiency of the system. This way, debris can’t fall in to mess up the system, not to mention the lid almost looks like art compared to an open hole sump.

Before installing the bright white CleanSpace liner, we laid out drainage matting to provide a waterproof barrier between the exposed soil floor and Brain's basement. The liner is engineered with an inorganic material that prevents mold and bacteria growth, protecting Brian and his family from illnesses like asthma or allergies.
