Turning Crawl Space Uncertainty into Protection in Gaylord, MI

A new homeowner in Gaylord, MI, was unfamiliar with crawl spaces and wanted to ensure their recently purchased home stayed safe from potential moisture and structural issues.

With a small, dirt-floor crawl space covered by plastic, we installed CleanSpace vapor barrier, Rim Joist Insulation, and FoamMax Crawl Space Insulation to create an airtight, insulated environment. To address humidity and air quality, we added a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, giving the homeowner peace of mind and protecting their new home for years to come.

Protecting a Gaylord, MI Business with a Waterproofing System

A business in Gaylord, MI, faced ongoing water intrusion every time there was heavy rain. Water seeped through a crack in the wall near a window, putting the mechanical room, which was home to vital equipment, at risk. With each storm, the threat of water damage grew, highlighting the need for a lasting solution.

Recognizing the urgency, one of our System Design Specialists conducted an inspection and proposed a comprehensive waterproofing solution for the board. The plan included WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system that would capture water before it could reach the floor and redirect it to the sump pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump, with its three layers of protection, would ensure efficient water removal even during the heaviest storms. Lastly, the CleanSpace Wall System would serve as a vapor barrier, preventing moisture from seeping through the walls and keeping the mechanical room dry and clean.

Once the project was completed, our lead installer walked the customer through the space to confirm everything met their expectations. The customer was thrilled to know the mechanical room would stay dry, the building was fully protected, and the entire system provided peace of mind that the problem was solved. Now, instead of stressing over water damage, the business can focus on its customers!

Upgrading to the CleanSpace System in Lake Ann, MI

As part of an ongoing repair project for the crawl space in the before photo, the owner had called and asked us for an encapsulation. The water that was inside isn’t visible in the photo, but the damage it had done is. Once the crew had removed the hanging insulation and the rest of the debris in the crawl space, they installed the CleanSpace plastic liner in the after photo.

CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that is impenetrable by moisture and unlike the previous encapsulation, it can protect both the floor and walls of crawl spaces. As you can see when comparing the two photos, the CleanSapce barrier was pulled tight and sealed to the walls to eliminate any possible entry points for vapor. The tough plastic will last for years to come and so will its protection.

Basement Wall Reinforced in Lake Ann, MI

Ever noticed any cracks in your basement walls or maybe it not being perfectly vertical? Well this customer certainly had that problem. They wanted our help fixing their bowing walls so we drove to their home and installed Wall Anchors. Wall Anchors are the most heavy duty repair option that we have and it also repairs the wall over time. We install these by digging a tiny hole in that is a few feet away from the home. Then we drill a steel rod through a 1 inch hole in the basement wall. After that, the rod connects to an anchor that is placed in the hole of the soil. Once we place the plates on afterwards, we have permanently stabilized the basement. So that the homeowner doesn't have to worry about an unsafe basement ever again.

Sealing a Frankfort, MI Basement Pipe Crack

The pipe exiting the basement wall in the before photo had been leaking and filling up the cinder blocks with water. Our crews patch up leaks like these with the sentry seal sealant. It’s a thick, waterproof membrane that protects against groundwater. The pipe led water away from the basement to an outlet in the yard. But with a leak in the wall, the water that should have been pumped out of the basement just ended up seeping back through the walls. Because the sentry seal membrane is used on wall cracks that are below ground, the crew normally needs to excavate the soil around the leak. However, in this case, the soil had already been excavated. As you can see in the after photo, the crew even used sentry seal over the pipe to make sure that neither it nor the wall would leak again.
