The musty smell in this crawl space alerted the owner to its poor conditions. The main causes of musty smells like these are humidity and moisture leaking in. The liner was pulled tight to both the floor and walls preventing any possible entry. The CleanSpace vapor barrier is impenetrable by moisture or humidity, meaning that neither of the main causes of that musty smell will be present in the newly protected crawl space.
