A homeowner from Boon, Michigan called us referring to his basement foundation walls. He wanted our professional help fixing it. We drove to his property and gave him a free estimate. After inspection, we noticed that wall anchors would be perfect for this basement. We install these by digging a tiny hole in that are a few feet away from the home. Then we drill a steel rod through a 1-inch hole in the basement wall. After that, the rod connects to an anchor that is placed in the hole of the soil. Once we place the plates on afterward, we have permanently stabilized the basement. So now the homeowner doesn't have to worry about an unsafe basement ever again.
Earlier this year we received a call from Eric, a homeowner in Boon, MI. Eric wanted to know if we could help him with the bow/cracking wall problem in his garage. Luckily, our new friend called the right professionals to guide him in his fight against the stubborn walls.
Here at Ayers, we have several options to reinforce, and straighten bowing/cracked walls. In Eric's case, his free inspection revealed the need for a solution consisting of several wall anchors. After having additional estimates drawn up, our new friend found the Ayers solution to be the best fit for him. The Wall anchors here in Eric's garage are perfect for returning the wall back to its original position and reinforcing the entire foundation. We stabilized the garage with a steel rod that runs from the wall anchor to an anchor placed in the exterior of the garage. In time, the wall anchors will work to reverse the forces of nature and straighten Eric's wall. No matter what bowing/cracking wall issues you face, we can provide an effective and affordable solution. Call us today, to see how we can help you!
The basement in this Burlington, MI basement had a couple of beams that were sagging pretty significantly. They needed some strong supports to help straighten them. Our crew installed a series of SmartJacks. To install these jacks, we remove a small amount of concrete and a cube of earth underneath. That gets filled in with compacted stone, the footing gets set on top of that, and the concrete is replaced. This creates a situation in which the weight that the jack is supporting is transferred deep into the ground past troubled soils. The jacks are adjustable and not only support an incredible amount of weight, but they come with an opportunity to lift the floors and walls above to their original position. These jacks significantly straightened the sagging beams.
Jesse set his water bottle down, and it rolled to the far side of the room. It had never been this obvious that his living room floor was slanted, so he researched and called Ayers for help. Our crew of experts stopped by his house and evaluated the situation. They recommended installing SmartJacks, a supplemental support system of top-grade floor jacks. Compared to store-bought floor jacks, SmartJacks are zinc-plated, hot dipped in galvanized steel, and placed two feet below the surface to limit load-bearing stress. Jesse loves his level floor!
Mary noticed her kitchen floor was slanted and worried about the damage this could cause, so she called Ayers to learn about our foundation solutions. We sent our professionals to her home to evaluate and recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are hot-dipped in galvanized steel and zinc plated, making them far sturdier than store-bought floor jacks. As the house moves and shifts, the jacks can be adjusted to fit the need. Mary loves the longevity of her new system!
