This 1940's home had some serious bowing walls. There were cracks not only on the inside of the walls but the outside as well. The customer bought the home on land contract and couldn't even move in until the home was considered stable and safe. They called the right people, because here at Ayers we have multiple solutions that can fix bowing walls. We did a thorough inspection of the inside and outside of the home and came up with the best solution that would fix the problem once and for all.
The answer was to install our PowerBrace System. PowerBraces are designed to fix the problem permanently so there is not worrying about having to have something else done in the future. PowerBraces can actually straighten the wall over time back to its original position. There is also no heavy equipment needed so there won't be any disturbance to the lawn/landscaping.
When these past customers of ours noticed the large horizontal crack in the before photo, they knew something was wrong with their home’s foundation. Cracks like these normally appear when soil puts extra pressure on walls and forces them to bend inwards. The inward bending or bowing of walls can lead to a lot of foundation problems, including structural failure. To keep that from happening to this Battle Creek home, our crew installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system. Aptly named, the system anchors walls against any future movements to hold the foundation in place. The Geo-Anchors are placed in strong, dependable soil about 15 or 20 feet from the walls. They are then attached to the walls using the wall plates and steel rods that run through the middle of the plates in the after photo. Even as soils continue to expand, the anchors will keep the wall steady.
One of David's walls in his basement was bowing out about six inches in the middle. So our team decided to install PowerBrace. Outside pressures caused his basement wall to move, however this foundation repair system counteracted these pressures by keeping his basement wall in place. Then, over time, the system was tightened to not only secure his wall in place, but to also straighten it.
This Battle Creek property owner was having some issues with his foundation wall bowing so he called us to find a solution to support the wall and hopefully return it to the original position. We installed GeoLock Channel Anchors to stabilize the wall. Galvanized steel and floor mounts for extra strength, our channel anchors provide an incredible durable solution that will halt all inward movement of your walls. We bore holes in hard packed soil in the yard for earth anchors and steel rods are joined to them through the wall. The channel anchor is then mounted on the other end of the rod inside your foundation wall, secured to the floor, and tightened into place.
Joel owns a rental property that had some bowing walls in the basement. He was concerned about safety and wanted them fixed so he called us for a solution. We installed GeoLock Channel Anchors to halt any inward movement of the wall. The GeoLock Channel Anchor system starts by drilling holes in the yard for the earth anchors and then drilling holes in foundation for the channel anchor. The earth anchors are galvanized steel that are joined to steel rods which are then connected to the channel anchors inside your foundation wall. The anchors inside your home are mounted to the floor and then tightened into place. This system will permanently stabilize your wall and could return it to its original condition. After the install, we restore the landscaping and basement to the state we found them in.
