Matthew is an amazing person; you can tell what a good man he is from the first time you meet him. He is genuine and cares about what he does with Ayers and wants to give you the absolute BEST outcome possible. I trusted him immediately! The amount of work that we ultimately needed was over $10,000 more than we had planned for, and if it weren't for Matthew's ability to show compassion towards me and my severe disappointment, I never would have listened, absorbed, or understood what steps would be necessary to take care of our crawl space. In April 2020, a team from Ayers came out to install a new system in my basement. The crew was extremely hard working, polite and conscientious. Unfortunately, on May 19 when the Edenville dam broke, my home was severely flooded. I called Ayers because the sump was no longer working and Matt G came out within a couple hours. He was able to figure out the issue was with the new outlet that was underwater during the flood and quickly get the sump running again. Matt took a look around at the wreckage of my basement and lower level and made some calls, securing two dehumidifiers I could rent at a very reasonable cost. The next day, a Saturday, he brought them to my home and installed them. Excellent service – but it did not end there. Matt jumped in with a team of volunteer friends and family to help clear the debris from my home. He worked very hard for several hours. When he overheard me say that I had not eaten in several days, he handed me his own snack bar and encouraged me to take a break and eat. That kind of care and concern for a stranger, “customer” or not, was pretty incredible. After taking time to explain how to optimize the dehumidifiers and offering great advice on flood recovery, Matt spent the rest of a long day checking in with my neighbors to see if he could help them out too. Although it was very frustrating to spend so much money to waterproof my basement, only to be flooded by something well outside what any warranty could possibly be expected to cover, I am SO glad I went with Ayers! Every single member of the Ayers staff that I have come in contact with has been exceptional, but Matt deserves a special mention for his compassion and dedication. He represents the company very well and truly is a terrific human being! I am extremely grateful for his help – it made a very difficult time easier and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. We want you to know what remarkable employees you have. I went to the computer looking for someone to help us decide what we could do for our basement. We had two issues, which were damp spots with water and crumbling walls.   Your company was the first one that I seen. I answered the questions and submitted my answers. Within 10 minutes my phone rang and the lady who called was very helpful and set up an appointment for us. We had to cancel our appointment and set it for another date because of a family emergency. Not only did Dennis James call to confirm our appointment but he was even concerned for our family. Dennis was extremely thorough. He showed us all the different things to choose from. As we walked through our basement, we told him what we wanted and our concerns about what we could afford. When he left, I said to my husband “we cannot afford to do this this year or maybe ever.” So when Dennis said he would come back with a plan, I said that we would listen but I knew that we couldn’t afford to do anything this year. Wow! I was wrong. He had listened to everything that we said and helped us figure out what needed to be done and had came up with a plan with his boss. Before I knew it, we were signing papers. He is a very good salesman. Now to tell you that as a woman, I expected a mess. I was prepared, but I cannot begin to explain how impressed I was with Ron and his team! They are three of the hardest-working men that I’ve seen in many years.  They worked great as a team and what I thought was unrealistic time to be done, they completed everything and all the clean up that they did was so good that I didn’t have to do anything.   Gene D.'s home in Holland, MI was built in the late 1890s -- and as you would expect in a home that old -- the basement had its share of problems, which could be felt throughout the house. Lack of proper foundation drainage led to water seepage. The moisture wicking through the irregular stone walls, and the floor created a humid, moldy and musty smelling environment in the basement. Because the air in any building moves upwards, the musty smells were being carried upstairs, along with a lot of the humidity. Of the fifteen years since Cathy D. moved into her home in Mason, Michigan, the last five were especially difficult because of terrible water issues in her basement. After heavy rains her basement would become severely flooded. That is when she called Ayers Basement Systems for help. When inspecting her basement, they found some very unique conditions that would require some adaptation of their current interior basement drainage tiles to work.   Typically, WaterGuard drain tiles are installed on top of the footing, but her home had been built with uncommonly thick footing. The crew then opted for an alternative method, which consisted of installing the drain by the interior edge of the footing to capture ground water, and a flange against the wall to collect any water seeping through the block walls. BrightWall panels, which fit snuggly into the drainage system, serve as a vapor barrier and help brighten up the stained basement walls. Cathy was very pleased with the knowledge, professionalism, and cleanliness of the crew and even more pleased with the results. Her basement was put to the test several times since then, by storms and snow melt, and her basement remained dry, clean and comfortable. Tammy's home in Elk Rapids, MI had a wet basement. After meeting with Jim Kephart, he knew exactly what we were looking for. He did not pressure us into buying anything we weren't on board with buying. He totally understood the situation. We definitely had a gas leak coming from the meter. The police and fire department were called and they had to quit working until the gas company came and fixed the problem.
