There was plenty of work to be done on Todd's crawl space. He hoped for encapsulation and solutions for his sagging floors. He called Ayers for these permanent resolutions, so we sent a crew for an inspection. Our team of experts recommended CleanSpace and SmartJacks to solve these issues. CleanSpace is an antimicrobial liner that will provide the airtight encapsulation of the crawl space. The vapor barrier property it holds will prevent the accumulation of moisture and critters, making the area cleaner. SmartJacks will resolve the uneven floors above this space. This support system provides solid support for sagging beams. This solution is installed by attaching steel support beams to the floor joists and a sturdy base within the floor. Todd is thrilled with the stunning transformation of his crawl space!
Margo and Chuck recently turned their Lewiston, MI vacation property into a permanent home. They’ve been dealing with cold floors, musty smells, and mold and mildew throughout the home. This job needed professional intervention, so the couple called Ayers. Our crew came in for an inspection and determined that Margo and Chuck would need our CleanSpace Wall System as well as a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
The CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along basement and crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool the home. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier automatically removes up to 100 pints of water a day from the air in the home’s basement. This system circulates the now dry air through the basement and automatically removes the leftover water so you don’t have to.
Margo and Chuck were more than satisfied with the service provided by Ayers and cannot wait to save money and breathe easier in their home.
Sal worried the cracked walls in his basement would cave in and he wasn't sure what to do. After researching his options, he called Ayers to learn about our foundation solutions. Our team of experts evaluated and decided he needed the Supportworks GeoLock wall anchor system. Wall anchors are heavy-duty, galvanized earth anchors placed in solid soil with a steel rod connecting the ground anchor to an inside anchor on the basement wall, providing clamping pressure to stabilize the wall. Sal is glad he called Ayers!
Chris noticed his basement walls had large, deep cracks in them. He knew this couldn't be good, so he called Ayers for help. We sent a team of trained specialists to his house to examine his basement and see what we could do. Our experts recommended a wet-spray concrete process called Shotcrete. Shotcreting applies a concrete or mortar wet-spray through a high-pressure hose to fill a form or repair damaged surfaces. Chris was happy to have the cracks in his basement walls sealed up for good!
These homeowners called as they were doing some new construction on their home and noticed a fairly significant horizontal crack in their basement wall. Upon inspection, we were able to observe some bowing in the wall. A level against the blocks showed a significant difference between the the crack and the top and bottom of the wall. We had definitely seen worse, but bowing walls are not something to wait on. Often the repairs become significantly more expensive over time and the walls become more dangerous. Now was the time to address it. We installed a series of wall anchors to support the wall. Steel wall plates on the interior of the home are connected to GeoLock Earth Anchors buried in the ground away from the home with long steel rods. Over time, the wall anchors can be tightened with the potential of improving the condition of the wall. This is a permanent fix that will prevent further bowing and will give these homeowners peace of mind.
