Helical Piers to Stabilize 120 Year Old Manistee, MI Home

Allisa and Daniel's home was built over 120 years ago and were terrified it was going to collapse and someone was going to get hurt. Walls and floors were sinking and settling and their were cracks everywhere, so they called Ayers. Our crew determined that Helical Piers would be the perfection solution. Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation's footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized. Allisa and Daniel were beyond grateful that they no longer have to worry about their safety and the safety of their loved ones.

SmartJacks Provide Much Needed Support Manistee, MI Basement

Daryl made the call to Ayers as he discovered we had support posts made for basements and crawl spaces that would help support his home! We had a team come out to his home to inspect the area and from this they determined SmartJacks would correct his support issues. SmartJacks are steel support columns that we connected to a sturdy supplemental beam above and a solid base below the floor that holds the weight of the home. They will even raise the floors back to their original position and prevent sagging that causes the floors to bounce. Daryl was happy to get these support problems tackled right away so matters didn't get worse in the future!

Protecting Comins, MI Walls with the PowerBrace System

This cinderblock foundation had started to bow inward. The horizontal crack running through the center of the wall is one of the most common signs of bowing. When soil starts to expand, the pressure can push foundation wall inwards. To counteract this pressure, our crew used the PowerBrace system in the after photo. The system consists of the steel beams and the bolts that attach the beams to the floor joists. The steel beams then resist the bowing while the adjustable bolts can be tightened to push the walls back to their original position. As you can see in the after photo, the beams were installed into the foundation floor to keep them stable. The PowerBrace system will keep this foundation safe for a long time to come.

A Bowing Basement Wall in Comins, MI is Straight Again Thanks to the PowerBrace

Kodie from Comins, MI began having issues with one of the walls in his basement bowing inward. Water began seeping into his basement through the mortar between each cinder block. A horizontal crack formed midway up the wall and Kodie began to realize the severity of the problem now faced. He knew that fixing the wall now would be much cheaper in the long run then waiting until his problems worsened. Kodie saw one of our advertisements on a social media platform and called us in search of professional help.

We rushed to his home and devised a tactical solution consisting of five PowerBraces. The PowerBrace system encompasses adjustable steel I-beams that secure to the joists above the foundation wall, offering revolutionary support. The PowerBrace improves the condition of bowing and cracked walls by reversing the forces of nature and allowing them to move back to their original position. To provide a solution to the water issues Kodie was also experiencing, we installed WaterGuard along the basement wall. Installed along the home's footing, beneath the concrete, WaterGuard collects water along the base of perimeter walls and safely directs it to a sump pump for removal from the home. With this effective solution in place, Kodie can rest easy knowing his wall will eventually return to its proper position and the water problems he once faced are now a worry of the past.
