Dawn wants her crawl space insulated and a solution to the moisture in it. We used spray foam to keep the area warm. To keep the moisture out we used Drainage Matting, CleanSpace, and the SaniDry XP. These halt moisture from coming in through the foundation and protect the structure from mold! 

Dawn has a crawl space that had moisture, dirt, and insects. She wanted to insulate the space and get rid of all the dirt and moisture. We used Spray Foam Insulation to keep the space warm by preventing cold air from coming in. We also installed CleanSpace Liner to keep out the pests, humidity, and water vapor. The before photo of this Saint Helen, MI home shows the open vent of the crawl space. Open vents allow moisture, humidity, and animals to enter the crawl space and cause problems, but they don’t offer any real benefits to the crawl space. In fact, the goal of most crawl space repairs and encapsulations is to isolate them from the outside. The after photo shows our solution to the problem, an air tight vent cover that will keep out all those possible problems. The cover will keep the newly installed encapsulation protected and dry for a long time to come.

It is a durable plastic liner utilizing a vapor barrier to prevent moisture development. We place a drainage matting below before installing the liner along the crawl space floor and walls. The raised dimples in the mat give the water leaking into the space a channel underneath the liner. With this proper encapsulation, David no longer has to stress about this area!
