Thomas had a big crack in his foundation and smaller cracks that were spreading as well. Before matters progressively got worse he decided to make the call to Ayers. We sent a crew out for an inspection and they concluded he could use our BrightWall and PowerBrace solution.
BrightWall is a waterproof, rigid, plastic paneling meant for unfinished basement walls. It will brighten the space and make for a much cleaner appearance, without a full remodeling job. Next with PowerBrace this will address the bowing wall by securing the wall in place with its steel beams that stretch the length of the wall and are installed in the floor at the base of the wall. They are then attached to the joists above the wall.
Thomas was relieved after these installations, now that he has a trustworthy system keeping his vital foundation walls in place!
These customers contacted us because the floor in their living room was sagging toward the middle of the house. There were no cracks on the basement or upstairs walls but the homeowners found that the bedroom doors were sticking. Thankfully, our SmartJack system was the perfect solution to their issue. The SmartJacks acted as supports for the sagging beams in the basement. They were installed and secured into place in the basement floor and attached to the sagging ceiling joists. Once tightened into place, the floors were stabilized and lifted back to their proper level.
A customer from East Lansing needed our help with improving her foundation. So we drove to her home to inspect how to improve it. After inspection, we decided to install SmartJacks. The SmartJack is a support system used to stabilize and level the floor joists in a crawl space. This system can support up to 60,000 pounds. The SmartJack system is placed on strong concrete fillings that have replaced the soil in that small location underneath the SmartJack. Now this homeowner will never have to worry about having a weak foundation.
The long horizontal crack in this before photo is a sign that this wall was bowing inward. Bowing walls happen when pressure from expanding soil becomes too much for a foundation to handle and they start to lean inwards. To counter the pressure made by soil, the crew installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. Placing the anchors into stronger, undisturbed soil then attaching them to the wall plates in the after photo will put a stop to the inward bowing, and in time, may even restore the walls to their original position. This East Lansing, MI home will now be protected from a long list of possible foundation problems.
One customer in East Lansing, Michigan had a wall that was starting to bow, as visible by the stair-step cracking at the wall. This tells us that the wall is bowing and is getting worse. So, we decided to solve this problem by installing our Wall Anchor System. These are installed by digging a tiny hole in the soil a few feet away from the wall. Then, we drill a steel rod into your wall so that the wall can be anchored into the soil. Now the wall is saved and this homeowner no longer has to worry about his entire basement wall collapsing.
