This bowing basement wall was in need of serious help. Stair-step cracks were found, which is a common sign of wall failure in block foundation walls. This often means that the problem is worsening because as the wall continues to bow, the corners have to rely on adjacent walls to hold it up, creating the stair-step cracks.
We installed the PowerBrace system to support the basement wall. This system involves steel beams that are secured to joists above the wall with steel brackets. The beams are coated in zinc to prevent corrosion and the braces use a joist reinforcement technique to transfer the weight of the wall evenly across the basement ceiling so the floor above is not disturbed.
Mike was dealing with cracks in his foundation walls so he gave Ayers a call for possible remedies. Our Ayers System Design Specialists came out for inspection and determined we would install our CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System as the perfect solution for this issue.
CarbonArmor consists of reinforcing straps made from a fiber-reinforced polymer that's much stronger than steel. These are installed by attaching the straps to the wall with epoxy resin and then secured to the joists above with steel brackets. This wall system will stabilize these important foundation walls and make sure it's secure to protect against future bowing. This system can also be painted to blend in with your walls or even covered with a wall finishing.
Mike was relieved to have these foundation cracks addressed with our CarbonArmor protection!
Travis knew the floor in his living room had a steep slant and decided it was time to fix the problem. After researching his options online, he decided to call Ayers for help. Our team of professionals went to his house to evaluate and recommended installing SmartJacks. As a collection of floor jacks working together, SmartJacks are far more durable than store-bought floor jacks. SmartJacks are hot-dipped in galvanized steel and zinc-plated, while their bases are placed two feet below the surface to reduce load-bearing stress. Travis is happy to have balance!

Kelvyn had two walls in her basement that were bowing. Her home is very old and so she called our team to discuss foundation repair options. Our team installed the GeoLock Anchor System which permanently stabilizes walls. In most cases it can eventually straighten the wall back to its original position. It is done by putting heavy anchors in stable soil away from your foundation wall. This system is ideal because it involves minimal disturbance to Kelvyn's lawn and home. In addition, our team installed the wall plate portion to prevent cracking and further stabilize Kelvyn’s walls.
