Ayers Basement Systems Before & After Photos

The before photo of this Bear Lake, MI crawl space shows where water was leaking down the walls and puddling up around the perimeter - note the water stains on the walls. Wet crawl spaces can lead to a variety of problems for homes like mold, bad odors, and structural damage in the form of rotted floor joists. The white plastic liner in the after photo is a part of our CleanSpace system. When laid down, CleanSpace creates a vapor barrier that won’t allow moisture to cause any of those crawl space problems. Mold won’t grow on it because it’s made of inorganic material, and it will prevent water from causing structural damage or bad odors. The SilverGlo Walls and Froth Pak foam in the after photo will play a similar role by providing both insulation and keeping out moisture. This crawl space won’t have any more problems in the future.

We spoke to Melissa over the phone to discuss our egress windows. She wanted a larger window to increase the natural light in her basement to brighten the space. Our egress windows are perfect since they are much larger than the standard basement window, and the opening allows for a safe exit in emergencies. We attach an exterior well with steps to ensure this exit is quick and easy. Melissa's basement feels much more open and welcoming now!

Our customer had an issue with a musty smell coming from their crawl space. This smell is usually from the presence of water vapor that can also cause mold and bacteria to grow. In addition to the smell, there was a small amount of water leaking into the crawl space from a pipe.

They suggested Shotcrete, which applies a concrete or mortar wet spray through a high-pressure hose to fill a form or repair damaged surfaces. Thomas loves having sealed basement walls!

With WaterGuard, this top-notch subfloor drainage system will collect water leaking through the walls. This solution is installed along the perimeter of the basement, ensuring Carol won't have to deal with pooling water. Concrete is poured over the drain to conceal it. Next, we added TripleSafe, a system consisting of three pumps that fit in one heavy-duty liner.
