Ayers Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Jack was working on finishing his basement when he started to notice some moisture coming in along the cove joint. Knowing that ignoring it would only mean a bigger problem later, Jack made a call to Ayers Basement Systems and together we came up with a plan. In his basement, we installed a DryTrak baseboard drain pipe system that sits directly on the basement floor along the perimeter walls. A waterproof epoxy holds the system tightly to the floor, directing the flow of any incoming moisture through the track until it finds it ways in to the crock of the sump system where it can be safely removed from the home. Now Jack can continue to finish the basement without concerns of mold or rot in the building materials over time.

The homeowners noticed that lake water was getting into their crawl space at their cottage. Excess moisture in your crawl space supports the growth of mold, dust mites, insects and other unwanted pests. It may also cause structural damage to the frame of your home and degrade some forms of insulation. 

Our professional team knew that something needed to be done! Our CleanSpace encapsulation system is the perfect solution to combat water in your crawl space. The CleanSpace encapsulation system covers your floors and walls with a think, durable, plastic vapor barrier. This vapor barrier reduces moisture and humidity in the crawl space and helps seal out cold drafts in the winter. With the CleanSpace encapsulation system, the homeowner's crawl space was transformed into a clean, dry, attractive and energy efficient space. 

Harold hoped to rid his crawl space of the nasty mold and mildew. Our team looked at his crawl space and determined he needed our CleanSpace solution. CleanSpace is an antimicrobial liner installed on the crawl space ground and walls, encapsulating the area with an airtight seal. Its vapor barrier provides the necessary protection between the moist soil and the home. Water and other critters will no longer accumulate in this space and harbor the gross mold. Roger noticed the family room in his log cabin starting to sink due to poor crawl space support. We answered his call and sent an Ayers crew to install support structures called SmartJacks. The steel jacks are attached to the floor joists above and rest on a sturdy base within the ground. SmartJacks effectively support sagging beams and floor joists. Roger is grateful for the permanent support provided!

Before Mike could sell his new home, he knew he would have to do something about his old crawl space. He knew that it might need to be encapsulated because of the moisture issues it was facing.  Our system design specialist came to a similar conclusion after discovering mold.

The crew took a trip to Canadian Lakes, MI and brought the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System with them. Seen on the walls of the after photo, CleanSpace is impenetrable by moisture or water vapor, and its’ inorganic material won’t permit mold to grow again. It should be noted that this isn’t a complete before and after. Before the project was completed, the crew also covered the floor with the CleanSpace liner. It’s left out in this picture to show the drainage matting that was also installed. The matting will prevent water from puddling in any one place and will direct water and the moisture issues of the past out of Mike’s crawl space.
