Ayers Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Patrick, a retired veteran, had been struggling with a persistent water issue in the basement of his 1989 home in Morley, Michigan. A vertical crack in the corner allowed water to seep in during heavy rains, and despite a repair made in the 2000s, occasional leaks continued along the north side of the foundation. As he considered the possibility of selling his home, he wanted to ensure the basement stayed dry and looked good—an improvement that would enhance his quality of life and his home's value.

All of Patrick’s concerns were addressed with a complete waterproofing solution. WaterGuard® was installed around the perimeter to collect and direct water to the SuperSump® Plus pump system, keeping the space dry. The FlexiSpan® crack repair system provides a flexible, long-lasting solution to seal the vertical crack, even with any future foundation movement. Additionally, BrightWall® panels made the basement look clean and finished while also ensuring any moisture would be channeled into the drainage system.

Jeanne's basement was old and unprotected, causing water to leak through the walls. She realized she had zero waterproofing solutions to combat the water, so she called Ayers. The inspection we completed of her home helped us determine the best recommendations. These suggestions were to have our experts install our WaterGuard System, TripleSafe Sump Pump System, and CleanSpace Wall System. WaterGuard is a subfloor drainage system installed along the perimeter of the basement. This drain will collect the water leaking through the walls and direct it to the sump pump. The next part of the installation was the addition of our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, a three-pump system there to keep water off the floor. Lastly, we added our CleanSpace Wall System to give the walls a vapor barrier, preventing excess moisture development. 

Our customer called with a sinking house - but only the part over the crawl space. Which means the crawl space is the problem. Upon inspection, we found inadequate support beams and support posts, which explains the sinking and unlevel floors in the home. 

We stabilized the crawl space with SmartJack crawl space support posts as well as steel beams to reinforce the wooden support beams. With all of the added support, the crawl space should no longer be a problem and the home above it will be safe and level.

In order to get fully waterproofed, this home in Grant, MI needed our WaterGuard installed. WaterGuard is a french drain system that sits below the floor slab and rests on top of the foundation footing. What this does is keep the drainage system out of the dreaded "mud zone", where drains are susceptable to clogging.

As you can see, WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement to fully maximize its effectiveness. It's also installed with minimal invasion to the slab, and once the project is complete, new concrete is layed over the drain, making it practically invisible to you or any guests in your home. The WaterGuard also has a drain outlet directly to the sump pump and will not cause any damage to the foundation.

It's extremely important for every homeowner to have a proper drainage system in their basement, especially around this area with all of the rain and snow that we get. Thanks to WaterGuard, this Grant, MI home now has a clog-free drainage system that will help keep their basement dry all year round.

Mike was dealing with cracks in his foundation walls so he gave Ayers a call for possible remedies. Our Ayers System Design Specialists came out for inspection and determined we would install our CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System as the perfect solution for this issue. 

CarbonArmor consists of reinforcing straps made from a fiber-reinforced polymer that's much stronger than steel. These are installed by attaching the straps to the wall with epoxy resin and then secured to the joists above with steel brackets. This wall system will stabilize these important foundation walls and make sure it's secure to protect against future bowing. This system can also be painted to blend in with your walls or even covered with a wall finishing.
