We installed an egress window in a basement that was being converted to a bedroom. In addition to making the space brighter and more inviting, it's a building code regulation that any living space must have two exits - and a standard basement window doesn't fit the bill.
The window in the before photo leads to a basement bedroom. After recently purchasing the home, the new owner requested our services to install a replacement window that would brighten up the room. The egress windows in the after photo do just that. As you can see when comparing the photos, the new window is much larger and lets in a lot more light. The window extends below the grade while the inorganic plastic well protects it from groundwater or other elements. Egress windows are the perfect way to compliment any basement bedroom.
Cracking and bowing foundation walls are a serious problem not only for your house, but also obviously for your family. That is why this family in Traverse City reached out to our expert team, who recommended our PowerBrace foundation wall repair system to solve their foundation issue. Steel I-beams are secured to joints above the wall and support the bowing, tilting, and buckling foundation walls. With the PowerBrace system in place, the family can now be confident that they are safe from a foundation collapse.
Basements can get nasty -- that's a known fact. Add water to the equation? You're in trouble. To fix the appearance that water damage has done to this Traverse City family's basement walls, we installed our patented BrightWall basement wall panels. BrightWall's bright white color maximizes the available light in your basement clean-looking space. BrightWall is also completely waterproof and washable, and is built to block out water vapor and humidity. No more worrying about moisture and mold in your basement with this clean look!
The rotting wood in the before photo of this crawl space was the result of moisture seeping in. Not only had that the moisture rotted the wood, it also soaked the insulation and caused it to hang down. The owner wasn’t aware of the problem until he had an inspector out to the home before he sold it. Since the owner was planning on selling the home and needed a permanent solution, our system design specialist set him up with the CleanSpace Barrier System seen in the after photo. The CleanSpace System is a full vapor system that encapsulates both the floor and walls. Not pictured are the SilverGlo Wall Insulation panels behind the barrier that will replace the previously hanging insulation. Together they're the perfect combination to keep moisture completely out of the crawl space.
