A customer in Saint Johns called in about a failing wall in the basement. At Ayers Basement Systems, we specialize in repairing or preventing walls from bowing in. Once our System Design Specialist took a look at the wall, it was save to assume it needed wall anchors.
Our wall anchors are designed to repair walls like these. The galvanized steel makes for a long-lasting solution that will prevent any further inward movement of the walls.
Note: The ground outside was filled in with dirt after the anchors were secured.
When our customer called wishing to install a sump pump in her crawl space to escape the endless cycle of the water softener draining into the space and causing problems, we didn't know that we would come across much worse problems.
Supports such as the ones shown in the "before" picture are unreliable and can be dangerous. When coupled with a moisture problem, the crawl space can wreak havoc on the floor of the home above the crawl space.
We replaced the unstable supports with the SmartJack assembly, which provides support and reinforcement to beams and the home's floor.
Nathan has a cottage that is used during the summer. This past summer he noticed cracks around the home, his floors were not level, and there was some problems with opening doors. We used Helical Piers to stabilize and lift the foundation back to the correct level. We used SmartJacks to stabilize and level the floors. These both have year-round, quick installation so you can get a permanent solution at any time!
Lynn's crawl space support beams were deteriorating over time and shifting. She called Ayers to receive our permanent foundation repair solutions. Our foreman got to work installing SmartJacks. This crawl space support system provides solid foundation support for sagging and undersized beams. These jacks restore stability and straightness to sagging floor joists. Lynn is thrilled with the permanent crawl space stabilization!
The owner of his home contacted us because there was wall in the basement next to the frost line that was bowed. The home was built in the 1940's with blocks and there was noticeable stair step cracks. There was no water coming in yet but we wanted to take care of the problem before it gets worse.
Our experts decided the best solution to the problem was to install our Carbon Armor straps. Carbon fiber is a very high tensile strength material so it won't stretch. Since it can't stretch we actually glue the carbon fiber to the walls to keep them from bowing or bending any more than they already have. Carbon fiber straps cannot straighten a wall but they can keep it in it's current position.
