Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

The homeowners in Grand Rapids, MI noticed that during the winter months their sump pump would become flooded with water. Their sump pump discharge line was freezing and trapping water in it. Once that ice thawed, it would all spill back into the home causing the sump pump to flood and getting water on their basement floor. 

To combat this problem, our professional team installed IceGuard anti freeze system. The IceGuard system attaches to the sump pump discharge line on the outside of the home. The system works by allowing water to escape from the discharge line even if it freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. Even if your discharge line is buried under a foot of ice and snow, water can still escape allowing your sump pump to keep your basement dry. Water will automatically run along its normal route once the pipe thaws, the homeowners do not need to do anything! 

Your sump pump is fine until the moment it isn't. It's in that moment that people usually realize their sump is outdated, inefficient, or just plain broken.

Such was the case in the photos above. The sump on the left wasn't the prettiest, but it was working.

And then it wasn't.

Luckily, we offer Zoeller sump pumps. The pump on the right is the Zoeller M98, which pumps 3,900 gallons of water an hour. It's also level with the floor and covered, which eliminates both the collection of debris and a trip hazard.

Jeff’s home was built in 1997 with a poured concrete foundation. His basement was finished and water was collecting in the corner. There wasn’t any standing water, but the carpet was saturated. He called Ayers for an inspection and our crew determined that WaterGuard would be the perfect solution for his home.

WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top.  

Jeff was thrilled to get this taken care of so his basement can go back to being a place where his family can hang out. 

Jon was searching for waterproofing solutions for his older home built in 1964. He wanted to make sure his home remains safe and protected from water leaks so he called Ayers. We had a crew come out to his home for a free inspection and it was decided he could use our WaterGuard System, SuperSump Plus, as well as our Window WellDuct Drain. 

First off, we had our crew install WaterGuard System which is a sub-floor drainage system installed around the perimeter of the basement and will collect water coming in through the walls. This water will then be directed to the sump pump and concrete is poured over the system to conceal it. Then we had our crew install SuperSump Plus which is a horsepower pump that has the ability to pump 2200 gallons of water an hour at an 8 foot head. The final installation was our Window WellDuct Drain which will help any water leaking from a basement window drain into the WaterGuard System. 

Jon was thrilled to get waterproofing systems installed that will protect his home for decades!

The homeowner called in with three cracks in his basement walls that were letting in water. Since he was giving the house to his son, he wanted to repair the cracks but was worried about the time and cost of a big job.

Using FlexiSpan, we were able to seal the cracks quickly and cost-effectively. WIth FlexiSpan's unique design, the sealant polymer will shift with the natural settling of the foundation, preventing further problems and eliminating the need for repairs down the road. 

In the photo on the left, the cracks are filled with the FlexiSpan materials and a drain is installed at the base of the crack to take care of any leaking water. On the right, the sealant is smoothed over so the customer can finish the wall however they wish.
