Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

With the concrete moved away, the WaterGuard set in and the drainage stone laid down, the final step is to cover the system with a new layer of cement. The cement will cure and the basement will look good as new, but with one difference: no more unwanted water.

This Zeeland homeowner called us for a solution to the crack in her basement wall where water enters the basment. We installed the WaterGuard system to get the water out of her basement. The WaterGuard is a French drain system that is installed below the floor but above the foundation slab to keep it out of the area where drains can clog. The system collects the water that seeps into the basement from the walls and drans it to the sump pump to be drained out of the house. We also installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep her basement even drier. Concrete walls and floors continually absorb moisture from the soil and release it into the air in your basement but the SaniDry keeps dry air circulating throughout the space, aggressively drying out your basement. The collected water can be drained to the sump pump or the WaterGuard drain.

The Zeeland rental home had some water issues and we were called for a solution to a dry basement. There was water leaking from where the floor meets the wall in a corner of a room in the basement. The basement is finished and the water soaked 5 ft of the carpet and ow the area is squishy. There was no sump pump in the basement and there hasn't been a water issues in years. 

We installed the WaterGuard to keep the basement dry. The WaterGuard is a French drain system that is installed under the floor but above the foundation to keep it out of the 'mud zone' where drains can clog. This system collects water the seeps into the basement through the walls and directs it to the sump pump. We also installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which offers 3 levels of protection to your basement. The TripleSafe system uses a powerful sump pump set at the lowest level for normal functioning but in heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful set a bit higher in the liner will take over and in case of a power outage, our UltraSump battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level takes over. 

Chris was stressed over some pesky wall leaks that were happening in his basement over the last five years. Overwhelmed with this issue he finally had enough and decided to call Ayers. We sent a crew to his home for a free inspection and our System Design Specialists concluded that our WaterGuard System would provide the perfect resolution to what felt like a never-ending nightmare!

We went forward with installing WaterGuard because this sub-floor drainage system that runs along the perimeter of your basement and keeps water or dirt away from your foundation. The water leaking in through the basement walls would be carried to the drainage pipes rather than your floor and will then be directed to your sump pump system. The gray WaterGuard Port is there for inspections so our crew can easily access the system if necessary in the future.

Chris was very relieved to finally get these irritating wall leaks resolved with a trustworthy waterproofing solution!

The before photo shows one of the multiple large cracks in the storage area of this basement. All of the cracks reached from the floor to ceiling, so the owner naturally related the moisture presence in the basement to the leaks. In the after photo, you can see the solution to the cracks. The crew needed to cover 3 different cracks with the FlexiSpan System. FlexiSpan is a two-layer polymer that will plug the leaks and provide a route for any seepage that does occur. The final destination for that seepage is also seen in the after photo. Below the freshly poured concrete rests a drain well that will escort water permanently out of the basement.
