Craig and Linda's crawlspace desperately needed work done to it. The crawl space was always damp, and it was visible that the area had been weathered. Craig and Linda grew tired of these problems and called Ayers. After a thorough walkthrough, the team at Ayers believed a couple of different products were needed.
The team at Ayers believed that installing CleanSpace would make a huge difference in eliminating moisture in the crawl space. CleanSpace uses a heavy, durable plastic liner that lines the crawl space. This liner provides a vapor barrier that drains any water coming into the basement behind the liner.
Craig and Linda will no longer need to worry about water and moisture getting into the basement and causing problems!
Our customer bought her home in 2016. An addition was built in 2009, that later became the kitchen. The floorboards were starting to pull apart and sag. This was causing damage to the integrity of the foundation as well as being a potential safety hazard. The customer called Ayers for an inspection and our crew determined that she would need SmartJacks installed in her crawl space to better stabilize the home.
SmartJacks are steel supports that balance the foundation of the crawl space, lifting it to its original position. They are anchored into the ground with poured concrete and can be adjust so the home will never shift out of place. After the install, our crew was able to achieve a little more than an inch of lift. Techs will return in about a year from now to tighten the SmartJacks to get more lift out of them.
The customer was at home during the installation and was more than satisfied with the work done. She was relieved that she no longer had to worry about falling through her floors.
Calvin J. from Beaverton, MI has a sump pump in his basement but was still getting water in his basement and could not figure out why. Good thing for him, he gave us a call for a fix.
We installed our patented WaterGuard French drain system for this job. The WaterGuard drain is placed beneath the basement floor but above the foundation footing, collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. Once this water is collected in the drain, it is redirected to the sump pump to be pumped up and out fo the basement.
David and Marie are retiring soon and moving up North. When they went in the home, they noticed a musty odor. They called Ayers for an inspection and we saw that there was no standing water at the time, but there were signs of some water intrusion at some point. Our crew determined that David and Marie would need CleanSpace to properly address their concerns.
The CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along basement and crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool the home.
David and Marie were thrilled to be able to get this taken care of and have to musty scent gone before they officially move in. They were more than pleased with the work performed by Ayers and can’t wait to start their retired lives together.
Tim M. from Grand Rapids, MI had lived with a stair step crack in his basement wall for 14 years before reaching out for our help. This type of crack poses a serious threat to the structural integrity of the home, and thankfully, we had a solution to this problem.
We installed our patented CarbonArmor wall reinforcing system for this job. CarbonArmor uses the same technology as the Army Corps of Engineers designed to reinforce bomb shelters to stabilize your basement walls. The system consists of fiber reinforced polymer that is 10 times as strong as steel, maximizing the utility of the product. And as a bonus, no excavation is needed.
