Charlene was looking into options for waterproofing that would resolve the water intrusion that would puddle in the corner of her basement. She decided that Ayers had what she was looking for so she gave us a call. We had a crew come out to her home for an inspection where we determined our WaterGuard System would effectively get rid of the water. This is a sub-floor drainage system that collects water coming in through the walls and directs it to the sump pump. We install this drain around the perimeter of the basement and pour concrete over top so it will blend with the space when it dries. Charlene was happy to get a solution that will protect her belongings from getting soaked!
Charlene's Sanford, MI home was built in the 1930s and her block foundation gets water in the corner of her basement whenever it rains. She finally got tired of cleaning up the puddles on the floor with a wet-vac, so she called Ayers for an inspection.
Out crew determined that WaterGuard would be the perfect solution for Charlene. WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top.
Rory realized his basement windows didn't open wide enough for an escape from the inside. This was a serious safety hazard, so he researched his options and called Ayers for help. Our crew of experts stopped by his house and evaluated the space. They recommended installing an egress window for easy escapes during emergencies. Egress windows are built to hold back heavy soil and water and include a polycarbonate safety cover designed to be stepped on without breaking. Having an emergency exit is a big weight off Rory's shoulders!
Harvey was getting a small amount of water and moisture in his basement through some cracks in the foundation. He wanted all of the problems fixed and called us to see about his options. We used the SaniDry XP dehumidifier to continuously blow dry air throughout the basement to eliminate the moisture and humidity as well as filtering the air. For the cracks, we used CarbonArmor which installs quickly and does not impact future basement wall finishing. It is made up of flexible carbon fabric straps that are attached to the wall with a high strength resin. Lastly, we installed the Basement to Beautiful Insulated Wall Panels. These prepare your wall for finished wall paneling and prevent cold spots in your basement.
The homeowners in Spring Lake, MI had a crawl space with a dirt floor and water was starting to pool in some areas. The added moisture in the crawl space can lead to mold and can bring unwated pests to the crawl space.
Our professional team decided that the SmartSump sump pump was the way to go! The SmartSump is specifically designed for crawl spaces to help reduce moisture, remove water and prevent flooding.
The SmartSump has a unique sump pump cover design, so water from a plumbing leak fills an alarm pocket on the lid first, sounding a WaterWatch alarm that will let you know there is a plumbing leak. From there, the water flows down a special airtight floor drain that will let the water down, but damp air cannot come up into your crawl space. The WaterWatch sump pump alarm also alerts you to pump failure for any reason, including power outages.
The before picture shows how much water was in the crawl space and the after picture is the SmartSump sump pump.
