The homeowner had a horizontal crack in their basement wall. They thought nothing of it until they noticed that the crack was causing their wall to bow and was allowing water to seep in. Horizontal cracks in your wall are the first sign of a wall that is beginning to bow. The cracks usually start out small and begin to increase in width over time as the soil continues to put pressure on the wall.
To combat this problem our professional team installed the PowerBrace system. The system is designed to support basement walls and allow for potential straightening over time. The PowerBrace system is coated with zinc making the entire system resistant to corrosion, reduces abrasion and wear, and creates a non-toxic surface. The beam systems also have a clean-cut appearance making your basement look nice and clean.
The wall is stabilized and is now well on its way to straightening up!
Jessica's concrete front porch and walkway was sinking and was no longer supporting the post holding up the roof. This safety concern forced Jessica to call an expert. Our Ayers crew came out for an inspection and determined that a combination of PolyLevel and NexusPro would be the perfect solution.
PolyLevel is a system used to repair sinking concrete by drilling minuscule holes into the slab and filling them with foam. The foam raises the stab and fortifies it to make it last even longer. NexusPro fills the cracks in the concrete and is more withstanding to harsh weather to remain flexible. Jessica was grateful that her home is now safe and secure and that her roof is not going anywhere.
Kurt realized his basement windows didn't open wide enough for an escape from the inside. This was a serious safety hazard, so he researched his options and called Ayers for help. Our crew of experts stopped by his house and evaluated the space. They recommended installing an egress window engineered for easy escapes during emergencies. Egress windows are built to hold back heavy soil and water and include a polycarbonate safety cover designed to be stepped on without breaking. Having an emergency exit is a big weight off Kurt's shoulders!
Dexter and Marla's Midland MI home was built in 1941. The couple had a different company waterproof their basement about 30 years ago. Since then, their home has had significant bowing as well as vertical and horizontal cracks in the walls. Every time it rained, water would flood in. They called Ayers for a solution that would last. We came out to inspect Dexter and Marla's home and determined that they would need us to install GeoLock Anchors to correct their foundation problem.
GeoLock Anchors permanently stop foundational shifting. The anchors have 3 parts. The first part is a plate on the interior foundation wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate into the soil directed away from the home. A second plate is anchored to the other side of the cable for maximum stabilization.
Dexter and Marla were thrilled with the installation performed by Ayers Basement Systems! They can finally put their minds at ease knowing their home is sturdy and dry for years to come.
Dale hoped for a permanent resolution to the water leaking into his basement during heavy rains. He wanted this issue eliminated as soon as possible, so he called our waterproofing experts at Ayers. Our crew checked out his basement and suggested our WaterGuard and TripleSafe sump pump systems. WaterGuard is an excellent interior drainage system placed along the basement's perimeter under the floor. A drain is needed in this case to collect the water seeping through and reroute it to his sump pump. Next, we added TripleSafe for triple the protection. Three pumps fit in one durable liner and keep water outside the home. The third pump is even battery-operated for power failures. His basement will remain dry the next time a heavy rainstorm hits!
