Shawn B installed an egress window after waterproofing his basement. These windows are large and allow natural light to flow in and transform a dark, muggy basement into a light, airy space. If you plan to create a basement bedroom, by law you are required to install an egress window. Shawn also opted to have us install SunHouse window wells to help protect your basement windows from the elements as well as a build up of dirt and debris.
Having a dirt crawl space when plumbing leaks are possible in your home is a recipe for disaster— just ask these Levering, MI homeowners. When water leaks, it’s absorbed in the dirt floor, making the crawlspace a wet, humid place and a breeding ground for mold. However, investing in a CleanSpace crawlspace liner and a SmartDrain to identify future leaks can address the previous concern. As shown in the second photo, our team did exactly this. Installing this flexible, durable and antimicrobial liner in the crawl space and an airtight floor drain that alerts the owners when there’s a leak, helps prevent any permanent damage. Additionally, a SaniDry Cx Air System to keep humidity low and CleanSpace Drainage Matting that directs water to the drainage system also works to make this crawl space a dry victory.
David was concerned with the moisture buildup in his crawl space. He knew this area needed encapsulation, so he called Ayers. Our experts concluded from an inspection that our CleanSpace solution would be his best option. CleanSpace isn't any regular tarp from the store. It is a durable plastic liner utilizing a vapor barrier to prevent moisture development. We place a drainage matting below before installing the liner along the crawl space floor and walls. The raised dimples in the mat give the water leaking into the space a channel underneath the liner. With this proper encapsulation, David no longer has to stress about this area!
This Mackinaw City, MI family called us because they were dealing with a serious water problem in their basement. Upon inspection, we determined that an installation of our CleanSpace system, WaterGuard system and our SmartSump sump pump was the combination for success. CleanSpace was used to seal off the basement walls from any water and hinder the growth of mold. Our WaterGuard system, a French drain system, was put below the floor and on top of the foundation footing to catch water and guide it to the sump pump -- our patented SmartSump. All in all, this family can now live comfortably knowing the lower level of their home is clean and dry.
To get the water out of this Mackinaw City, MI basement, we at Ayers installed our patented IceGuard. The IceGuard grated discharge line protector allows for water to leave your sump pump and be dumped outside even in freezing months. This is a perfect solution for this house simply because of its geographic location, being that winters are very long and harsh. However, in any freezing temperatures, pipes can burst if you do not have IceGuard. This family can be assured that their basement will not be flooding due to a burst pipe for every winter they encounter.
