This customer callled us becuase they noticed that their foundation wall was bowing and water was leaking through the cracks. You can see from the before picture that the bowing wall was pushing on the pipes and if this problem was not fixed then the pipes would burts.
We came to the rescue and installed a GeoLock Channel Anchor System. The GeoLock Channel Anchor System consists of steel rods stabilized in solid soil in the yard. The rods are connected to a steel plate in the ground and the channel anchor that is inside the foundation wall. The channel anchor is secured to the floor, as well as the rod in the ground, for extra strength. This stops the inward movement of the wall and could return the wall to its original position.
Kathleen noticed small cracks in her block foundation walls. She realized her pump was being overworked. She contacted Ayers and we sent our Foreman Bruce to examine the issue. Bruce realized the home's drainage system was not strong enough so Bruce installed a WaterGruard drain system.
The WaterGuard system works with the sump pump to direct extra water away from the home. The outlet is underground and leads the water safely away from the home. The system is installed under the foundational floor and is completely out of sight inside and outside of the home.
Rose has lived in her Michigan Center, MI home for a few years. When she moved in, she had Ayers out for a bit of waterproofing work. Now a new issue has arisen with her foundation. After the last big rain, water entered from the north wall. The foundation in that spot has bowed and shifted. After an inspection in Rose's home, our crew determined that she would need GeoLock Wall Anchors as well as 3 inch Helical Piers.
GeoLock Wall Anchors permanently stops foundational shifting in its tracks. The anchors have three parts. The first part is a plate on the interior foundation wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate into the soil, directed away from the home. A second plate is anchored to the other side of the cable for maximum stabilization.
Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation’s footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized.
Rose was thrilled with the work Ayers Basement Systems did for a second time on her home. She is always pleased with the level of professionalism and craftsmanship on every job our crew completes. If any other issue arises, Ayers is first on the list for Rose.
William noticed moisture entering his crawl space and causing mold growth. He knew mold eats organic material and could cause structural damage to his home, so he called Ayers for help. A team of our experts visited his home and recommended installing EverLast doors. Crawl space doors are often constructed of plywood or similar materials that fail to eliminate moisture. The EverLast door is built with durable plastic that won't shrink, crack, or warp under certain conditions. William is ecstatic to have a dry, mold-free crawl space!
Paul called when he and his siblings wanted to take care of the problems in their mom's crawl space. The crawl space had vents and didn't have a sump pump, so mold and moisture problems were pervasive.
We encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier and installed a Smart Sump pump and a SaniDry dehumidifier, as well as closing the vents and putting better doors on the entrances, in order to seal off the crawl space from ambient moisture issues.
