Rick’s crawl space had water intrusion constantly. He was tired of worrying about his crawl space so we installed CleanSpace, a plastic sheet material used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. Not only does this system create an energy-efficient crawl space, but it also gives your crawl space a clean finish. This material will be applied to your floors and walls to create a sleek look and an uninterrupted barrier.
Tim A. was afraid that mildew or mold had started growing in his wet dirt crawl space. His home was built in 1900 without a sump pump allowing water to accumulate and stand for long periods of time. We installed our waterproof CleanSpace crawl space liner to create a vapor barrier between the dirt and the home. We added drainage matting below the liner to capture intrusive water and transport it into the perimeter drain system. That water is then sent to their newly installed Triple Safe Sump Pump which discharges it far from the home. Tim went one step further and opted to have us install a SaniDry Sedona high performance dehumidifier that will keep this space dry and clean well into the future.
In crawl spaces, we want to prevent any moisture and outside air from seeping in. These elements provide the perfect opportunity to for mold growth in your crawl space. Vented crawl spaces can also increase your energy bills by allowing cool air into your home. Ayers Basement Systems recommends installing the CleanSpace vent cover. They are made of plastic so they will not rot or rust and will permanently seal the air out and insulate your crawl space.
This customer complained about their crawl space always being damp. Their well, pump, and plumbing are exposed and they would like for it to be secured and insulated before winter hits and the pipe freezes. Our team installed the CleanSpace Liner to prevent any moisture from entering the space. The CleanSpace Liner keeps the moisture out in those winter months to prevent freezing and gives the crawl space a much cleaner look and area to navigate.
Michigan winters are brutal to for everyone, even our houses start to have issues with the drastic temperature change. Low temperatures can increase energy bills due to poor housing insulation; as well as increases in precipitation can cause flooding problems with poor waterproofing in crawlspaces. At Ayers Basement Systems, we recommend upgrading existing crawlspaces with two products: CleanSpace and SilverGlo. CleanSpace is a white vapor barrier that protects the house from invasive humidity and temperatures from the ground. SilverGlo goes on the wall to further insulate the crawlspace. With the addition of a sump pump, these upgrades will help to save money, reduce cold temperatures, and eliminate any organisms growing under our houses.
