Larry was concerned about his damp, dirt floor crawl space. He knew a dirt floor wasn't keeping any water moisture out, so he researched his options and called Ayers. Our specialists visited his home, inspected the space, and recommended installing CleanSpace, an antimicrobial-lined vapor barrier. The path of the employee entrance to this business was uneven and unsafe, so the owner called on us to raise and restore the concrete slab. A few PolyLEVEL injections and the entrance is level and safe.

The owners of this home in Vicksburg were experiencing uneven floors throughout their home, and were interested in fixing this problem and stabilizing their house. Our system design specialist paid them a visit and decided that the SmartJack system was the best solution. Able to support 60,000 lbs, this adjustable steel support beam system installed in a crawl space helps fix and prevent sagging floors. The beams can be raised to different heights to level the floors above. In this home, the SmartJacks were installed directly into the foundation floor, extending 3 feet tall, permanently stabilizing, lifting the home, and providing level floors.

The before photo shows the cinder blocks that the owners had previously been using to support their crawl space. The crawl space ceiling is also the floor joists for the first level, so when the ceiling is sagging a bit, the floor above is also sloping. In this case, even the supplemental supports beams for the joists had started to lean. As you can see in the after photo, the crew reinforced the floor joists with steel beams that would better support the weight of the floor. Then they added in the SmartJack support system. Once in place and attached to the ground, the jacks were raised to a height that leveled out the floor joists and the floor above. Best of all, if the crawl space ever does begin to sag again, the SmartJacks can be adjusted to a different height.
