John was in need of major basement work. Going to Ayers was a smart choice by him due to our reliable foundation and support works. John was hoping that our specialization did not stop there and our team was happy to oblige.
John requested an egress window to be installed in the basement wall being worked on, so our foreman Evan added the request to his to-do list. The windows used here at Ayers are waterproof and insulated so light gets in, and water and cold air stay out.
This Lansing homeowner has a small leak in her basement but it had just flooded a couple months ago. She sees the wall is bowing a little and there is a crack on the backside of her home. She wants to remodel her home, but needs to start with the basement so that the structure is supported. We installed GeoLock Channel Anchors to stabilize the basement walls. Galvanized steel earth anchors are installed and steel rods are joined to them through the wall. The channel anchor is then mounted on the other end of the rod inside your foundation wall, secured to the floor, and tightened into place. This will permanently stabilize your wall and could possibly return it to its original condition.
Jim and Kathy were looking to fix and waterproof their egress window. Over the years, the enclosure for the window had deteriorated, and water appeared to be leaking into the home. The couple decided to contact Ayers and explore their options. An inspection of their home determined that a new window and enclosure should be installed. After everything was set and installed, Jim and Kathy's window looked better, and would no longer let water into their home!
This Lansing homeowner was having issues with the driveway slabs settling and causing trip hazards. They wanted the space to be safe and fix the problem before other foundation problems occurred. PolyLevel, an injectable waterproof foam, was used to raise the concrete that was sinking. NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant, sealed the concrete slab joints to keep things from getting underneath. Both dry in a short amount of time so it is not inconvenient to the homeowners!
Richard had an egress window installed into his basement. While it was great for safety and the natural light that would come in, it began causing water problems. Whenever it rained, the well of the window would fill up with water, bringing worry to Richard that it may start leaking into the basement. After using a temporary solution to cover up the window, he decided to call Ayers to see what could be done. A specialist at Ayers came out to inspect the window and determined that an egress window cover and lid would be perfect for the job. Installing the window cover required the crew at Ayers to dig down and around the old window to allow access to install the cover. Once the window cover was installed and buried, and the top was fasted and secured, no more water could get into the window well. Richard was happy to have found a permanent solution for his widow while eliminating the eyesore it once was!
