Laurence realized water was leaking through the seams of his basement walls and floors and was unsure how to fix it himself. He researched his options online and called Ayers about our waterproofing solutions. We sent a team of specialists to his home to examine the situation, and they recommended the installation of WaterGuard, a drainage pipe system that prevents clogging before it starts. WaterGuard sits on top of the footing, rather than alongside it, to avoid collecting mud and clogging the drain. Laurence loves his dry basement!
A homeowner in Holland, MI, built his family home in 1983 but could never fully complete the crawl space due to restrictions from the DNR. Over the years, the unsealed space allowed moisture and critters to enter, leading to cold floors and damage. The homeowner tried insulating the floors, but the material absorbed moisture, sagged, and trapped cold air beneath the house.
The Ayers team removed the old insulation, installed insulation panels along the crawl space walls, and sealed the area with CleanSpace to keep moisture out. Drainage matting and CleanSpace were applied to the floor, ensuring the crawl space remained dry and insulated.
Now, the home is protected from moisture, providing a warmer, more efficient living space.
The walls in the basement of this home were starting to bow, and water was making its way into the basement. It was clear that both of these issues needed to be addressed if the basement ever wanted to see drier days.
To fix the bowed walls, PowerBraces were used. These zinc-coated beams that are resistant to corrosion, support the basement walls and can be tightened to allow for potentially straightening the walls over time.
To prevent water from collecting in puddles on the floor, WaterGuard, a perimeter subfloor drainage system, does the trick. The metal piping is installed on top of the footing so it won’t ever get clogged with mud if the soil gets wet. WaterGuard efficiently collects water from the walls and reroutes it to the sump pump.
Dennis and Blanca began to notice large puddles of water whenever it rained. While rain is great for growing the greenery outside of the home, water aides in growing mold and fungi inside as well.
Our systems design specialist recommended a full basement waterproofing, including a SaniDry XP Air System and an egress window installation. The SaniDry XP Basement Air System is a powerful dehumidifier designed to remove 10 times the amount of water from the air as a regular dehumidifier. As a result, dry and clean air is produced and ultimately reducing the risk of mold growth. The egress window installation also allows more natural light in the home to eliminate mold and mildew growth.
After a longstanding problem with water in the basement, our customer called to take care of it once and for all. Among the problems was a sump pump that just couldn't keep up. In addition to not being strong enough, the pump also didn't have a cover, and leaving it open made it vulnerable to damage or being clogged with debris.
We installed a SuperSump pump to efficiently discharge the water from the basement. In addition to its powerful motor, the cover protects the system.
