With colder weather came colder floors in Teresa's home, and she hated having cold feet. She researched her options online and called Ayers to learn about the issue. Our crew of professionals visited her home to evaluate and realized the vents in her crawl space allowed cold air underneath her house. They suggested and installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier, a highly durable and antimicrobial material. Devon was looking into additional foundation support and crawl space encapsulation. He called Ayers for the job, so we sent a team for a free inspection. The crew concluded that CleanSpace and SmartJacks would provide the necessary solutions his crawl space required. First, CleanSpace is installed on the crawl space ground and walls, providing a barrier between the soil and the home. This liner is waterproof and will create an airtight seal that protects the area from outside air, moisture, and critters. Next, we installed SmartJacks to replace his rotting wooden support structures. These steel columns rest on a solid base in the subfloor and are easily adjustable. The owners of this home on Gun Lake called us with a “huge water issue” and also stated that their crawl space was a mess. We helped clean up their crawl space with some new insulation and the addition of a CleanSpace liner. Applied over drainage matting, CleanSpace is fixed to the walls and covers the floor. This Grand Rapids couple were having issues with their crawl space. There was moisture in the area, mold growing on the structure, and the floor on the main level of the home was sinking. To support the sagging floor, we installed SmartJacks which are installed by attaching steel support beams to the floor joists and a sturdy base at the floor and will raise the floor back to the original level. We also closed off the crawl space to keep the mold and moisture out. The first step to encapsulating the area was to install Drainage Matting which has dimples in it to allow the water to flow under the liner and to be directed towards the sump pump. Secondly, we installed the CleanSpace liner over the matting which is a thick durable liner that prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through into the area. We also installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which has three levels of protection to the home in case of a power outage or pump malfunction. Lastly, we installed the SaniDry Sedona. The SaniDry is a dehumidifier that keeps dry air circulating throughout the space to dry out your basement or crawl space.  It also has a small size so it easily fits into a small crawl space or takes up a small amount of room in a basement.
