One afternoon we received a call from Don, a home inspector and homeowner in Kalamazoo, MI. He began observing water seepage where the wall meets the floor. As a home inspector, Don knows what can happen when you don’t address issues of this nature. He smartly made the decision to address this water concern before it began developing into larger problems. We went to his home and diagnosed the issues he was facing in his basement; we then recommended installing WaterGuard to remedy the problem. WaterGuard was installed along the home's footing, beneath the concrete, the installment collects water along the base of the perimeter walls and safely directs it to the sump pump for discharge from his home. In addition, to supplement the WaterGuard, we installed the DoubleSafe sump pump system. DoubleSafe is a safeguard feature that includes the use of two pumps to ensure this basement will stay dry, even in severe weather events. In the case of heavy water or primary pump failure, the second and more powerful pump will kick in. With this complete system in place, Don should rest assured that his wet basement days are over.
Randy noticed a small wall crack creating a path for water to seep into the basement. Irritated with the water intrusion, he called Ayers for waterproofing solutions. We first installed our CleanSpace wall system, a durable plastic liner with a vapor barrier to protect against wall moisture. Next, we added an interior drainage system known as WaterGuard. Placing this drain within the basement floor around the perimeter of the walls ensures water is collected and rerouted to the sump pump. Randy's basement floor will stay dry now!
The homeowners called us because although there were no visible cracks in the basement, water was still getting in and the walls were literally starting to crumble.
We installed WaterGuard to drain the water, and the CleanSpace wall system with BrightWall paneling to protect the basement from any water seepage through the walls. A SaniDry XP to control ambient humidity finished off the job and now their basement is safe and usable space.
Travis called us with a request to have an Egress window installed in his basement. Not a problem. We were able to expertly install and seal the window in the poured concrete basement wall. We excavated on the exterior of the home for the install and placed a 50 inch wide galvanized window well in the hole to surround the window. Proper drainage was installed and stone was finished off the install. Now the basement is brighter and an emergency escape has been added for the space.
Due to cracks in their walls, Kelsey and Randy were experiencing water leakage in their basement. They want to sell their house, but they can't until this issue is fixed. So our team installed FlexiSpan wall crack repair. FlexiSpan is a three part process that requires a flexible sealant, a flexible strip of foam and an impermeable membrane. These items are not affected by pressure or more movement in the walls, which is why they are better than mortar sealant or other solutions. So this system will provide a permanent fix to Kelsey and Randy's leaking walls, allowing them to sell their house.
