This Manistee home is a summer cottage, only occupied for about half of the year, but it gets some water into the basement. It creates a small amount of standing water, small enough amount that can be taken care of with a mop, but Carl just wants to have a waterproofing system installed. We started with the WaterGuard drain which is a perimeter drain installed under the floor. It collects the water and sends it to the sump pump to be discharged outside the home. The SuperSump Plus is great for occasional water intrusions, provides total protection for the home, and works perfectly with the drain system. To keep the space dry and protect it from mold or rot, we installed the CleanSpace Wall System and the SaniDry XP. The CleanSpace keeps out humidity and water vapor. It also gives a clean bright look to the space. The SaniDry dehumidifier blows dry air throughout the basement, works with the drain system, and filters the air.
Allisa and Daniel's home was built over 120 years ago and were terrified it was going to collapse and someone was going to get hurt. Walls and floors were sinking and settling and their were cracks everywhere, so they called Ayers. Our crew determined that Helical Piers would be the perfection solution. Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation's footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized. Allisa and Daniel were beyond grateful that they no longer have to worry about their safety and the safety of their loved ones.
A customer needed help keeping water out of her basement so she called our team and we installed the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System. This system will alert you when water levels are too high and has an airtight lid to prevent any unwanted moisture or pests from entering.
Larry D. called because he had a floor that was sagging about 3/4”. The glass wall located in the bathroom above the floor was exerting too much pressure causing the floor to sag.
In order to support the sagging floor, we installed the effective SmartJack stabilizer system. This installation of this system starts by taking out a cube of soil in the ground and filling it with concrete or crushed stone. A structural footing is then placed in the fill to hold a galvanized steel column that is then connected to the girder above to stabilize the floor and potentially lift it back to its original position.
Kim’s 2004 Onekama, MI vacation home is almost done being renovated. She and her husband are planning on retiring in the home, but want to finish the basement. They wanted a few egress windows installed in order to go ahead with the rest of the project.
Our egress windows bring safety and beauty in one. Building codes require that basement living spaces must have a large enough window to safely evacuate in case of emergency. Our windows have built-in steps and durable covers that hold up to 500 pounds.
Kim and her husband were thrilled with the work Ayers did, and cannot wait to finish their renovations before moving in full time.
