Matt in Muskegon gave us a call saying that water was beginning to get into his basement with large rain falls. After going out for our free inspection, we realized that he had a drainage issue. To fix this, we installed our WaterGuard.
WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that is placed on top of the footing. Most perimeter drainage systems are placed alongside the footing, but doing it that way makes it susceptible to mud getting in and clogging it. Being on top of the footing is a huge advantage, because it is no longer sitting in the mud; it's on top of it, which obviously makes it much harder for mud to get in.
As you can see, to start out we have to jackhammer out the trench where the WaterGuard will fit into. After this, we place drainage stone above the footing to help aid the waterproofing process.
Once the WaterGuard is installed, we then fill the trench back up with concrete, making the drain virtually invisible, and completely out of the way.
Homeowners wanted to turn their basement into a livable space. So they contacted our team and we installed an egress window and well. Regular windows offer minimal protection against outside air entering the home because they are poorly insulated around the window. Egress windows will help ventilate your indoor areas and prevent unwanted allergens from entering your house. Also, egress windows provide a safe exit in case of emergency so they are required in finished basement living areas. In addition, these windows provide lots of natural light.
Every spring this home would struggle to keep up with the water that leaked into the basement after the snow thawed. There was already a sump pump in place, but it wasn’t capable of discharging the necessary amount of water to keep the basement dry. After the crew installed a perimeter drainage system that would direct all leakage to the sump, the owner also thought it would be a good idea to upgrade the sump pump system as well. The sump in the after photo is one of our more dependable sump pump systems, the SuperSump. Luckily for the owner, the basement only leaked during extreme weather, so it made sense for him to go with one of our more cost-effective sumps that would provide full protection only when needed. It was the perfect upgrade to complement the rest of this Muskegon, MI basement’s new waterproofing system.
Water was flooding a homeowner’s basement because his old sump pump wasn't working. So our team installed TripleSafe, a sump pump system that’s main purpose is to keep your basement dry. This system provides ultimate protection against all basement leakage and any moisture problems because it has three pumps within this one system. One of the pumps is battery powered so that the system can work even during power outages.
The homeowners were noticing water coming into their basement when there was heavy rain. The sump pump they had in their basement just wasn't effectively removing water from their home causing water damage on their basement floors.
Out professional team installed a SuperSump sump pump to combat this problem. The SuperSump system is a full-featured system that includes the best components available. The SuperSump removes water from your basement into a drainage system that takes the water outside your home. It includes the SuperLiner, which is an airtight lid that looks more attractive, keeps pests out and eliminates safety hazard of an open sump pump. It has a floor drain in case an unforeseen accident puts water on your basement floor. It includes a WaterWatch Alarm, which alerts you if the water level rises above the sump pump intake. It has a cast-iron pump to prevent overheating and burnout. It has a CleanPump pump stand that elevates the sump pump to prevent clogging. It has a check valve to prevent pumped water from re-entering. Lastly, it has an improved float valve to ensure long-term performance.
Becuase of the SuperSump sump pump, the homeowner's basement is now clean and dry!
