The before photo shows one of the multiple large cracks in the storage area of this basement. All of the cracks reached from the floor to ceiling, so the owner naturally related the moisture presence in the basement to the leaks. In the after photo, you can see the solution to the cracks. The crew needed to cover 3 different cracks with the FlexiSpan System. FlexiSpan is a two-layer polymer that will plug the leaks and provide a route for any seepage that does occur. The final destination for that seepage is also seen in the after photo. Below the freshly poured concrete rests a drain well that will escort water permanently out of the basement.
After nearly 8 years in their Zeeland, Michigan home, Laurie and Vern decided they wanted more space. What better place to add one than their finished basement! To bring the room up to code compliant, the couple enlisted our help. Our systems design specialists replaced their old, useless window with a functional egress window. The new window not only makes their new bedroom code compliant, but it also supplies fresh air and natural lighting!
A customer needed an egress window to complete the room in her finished basement. So she called our team and we installed an egress window. Due to poor insulation around the window, most windows usually offer minimal protection against outside air entering the home. However, egress windows will help ventilate your indoor areas and prevent unwanted allergens from entering your house. Also, egress windows provide a safe exit in case of emergency so they are required in finished basement living areas. In addition, these windows provide lots of natural light.
Kari and Bill of Zeeland, MI, were experiencing water intrusion in their partially finished 1918 basement. Concerned about long-term damage and stability, they reached out to Ayers. Our team designed a customized solution, starting with push piers and wall anchors to stabilize the foundation, followed by the EverBrace™ Wall Restoration System for added structural support. We then installed a WaterGuard® Drainage System to manage water intrusion and protect the space. Now, their basement is dry, secure, and ready for the future.
Laurie and Vern have block windows in their finished basement but are creating a bedroom in the area for their granddaughter. They want the space to be safe for her and her child so they called us about an Egress window. We installed the Egress window and well for them. The window is large enough to allow safe exit out of the space in case of an emergency as well as allow more natural light to enter the room making the space feel more inviting. The window well is made up of one piece so it will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the well walls. It is also engineered for safety and includes a built in ladder for easy escape.
