The home had an unstable foundation with sloping floors, gaps in the stone walls, and moisture issues in the crawlspace, leading to potential structural damage and pest problems. The Ayers team encapsulated the crawlspace with a heavy-duty liner, sealed the walls with spray foam, and added insulation to protect against moisture, pests, and rot. This improved the home’s structural integrity and air quality, with future plans to add supports for further floor stabilization.
We receive a lot of calls from people as they begin trying to sell their homes. Mostly because they want to make sure that everything is as presentable as possible. The call from this listing agent was no different. The house was going up for sale, but it had two cracks in the foundation that she wanted to have taken care of first. When our team needs to repair smaller cracks in basement walls like these, we use FlexiSpan sealant. The sealant is double layered, with the first being injected into the crack to seal it up permanently - no matter how the wall shifts or moves over the years. The layer on top of that is a drainage layer. Any water that does somehow permeate the initial seal will be directed to the new drainage point that the team installed at the foot of the wall; You can see the darker shade of fresh concrete where the system was installed in the after photo.
Rosemary called ues becuase she has been having water issues during heavy rain in her basement for 25 years. The water that gets in is not a ton but there is enough to where she can not finish the basement or reso the flooring. We installed the WaterGuard system which is a drain system that is installed under the floor to collect the water seeping in. The water that is collected get sent to the sump pump to be expelled outside of the house.
Tom and Maria's basement in Portland, Michigan, faced water damage and mold due to foundation settlement near their egress window. After installing helical piers for stabilization and a new egress window, they protected their home with a WaterGuard® drainage system and TripleSafe™ sump pump. Their basement is dry, secure, and ready for use without worrying about further damage.
Courtney and Trevor purchased their home about a year ago and during the walkthrough with the inspector, he had mentioned that the crawl space could use some attention. Since then, the moisture and musty smell coming from the crawl space had become worrisome, especially since they have 2 babies in the home. The couple had a few quotes done, but none were as thorough as Ayers. Our crew determined that they would need CleanSpace to encapsulate the crawl space, as well as a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
The CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool your home. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier automatically removes up to 100 pints of water a day from the air in the home's crawl space. The system circulates the now dry air through the crawl space and automatically removes the leftover water so you don't have to.
Courtney and Trevor were more than satisfied with the work Ayers did. They were both ecstatic to be able to ensure a home with safe and healthy air to breathe for their kids, and being able to cut down on energy costs was an added plus!
