Get Your Patio & Pool Decks Ready for Summer With PolyLEVEL

Get Your Patio Pool Decks Ready for Summer With PolyLEVEL - Image 1Summer is just around the corner and you may have noticed the concrete on your patio or pool deck has settled over time. The reason this happens is because when your pool was installed, the soil surrounding it was compacted very lightly to prevent any damage to the pool walls. When the soil can no longer hold the concrete slab, it begins to settle, creating safety hazards and an unappealing patio or pool deck.

There are a couple options you have to fix this problem, some of which have more disadvantages than advantages.

Mudjacking is an old method that people may use to fix their settlement issues, though there are many problems associated with it. This method involves drilling multiple holes in your concrete slab to pump in cement that will hopefully lift the concrete back to its original position. The problem with this method is that it creates unsightly large holes in your concrete slab and can create a mess that is hard to clean up. Not to mention, the concrete they are pumping under the slab is too heavy for the soil underneath to hold, which can cause even more problems in the future.

Concrete replacement is another technique people use to fix their concrete settlement. This is a lengthy, expensive method because in order to replace the concrete you must first remove the existing concrete slabs and then heavy equipment is used to remove the debris and create a new concrete slab. The problem with this is that it not only causes damage to your lawn or landscaping but it just doesn’t fix the actual problem. The reason the slab is settling is because soil underneath cannot hold it, not because there is something wrong with the actual slab. Replacing your concrete will not fix the problem because the newly installed slab will end up having the same problem as your old one!

Get Your Patio Pool Decks Ready for Summer With PolyLEVEL - Image 2The solution to your patio and pool deck settlement is the PolyLEVEL system that easily repairs your sinking concrete. This system is similar to mudjacking but instead of using heavy cement we use lightweight, high-density polymers that raise your concrete slab back to its original position. Instead of drilling multiple large holes, we drill a few small (penny sized) holes into your slab and fill it with the polymers that will expand and lift your slab. There are also a few more advantages to this system: there is a quick 15-minute cure time and the polymers are waterproof and environmentally friendly!

You can now get your patio and pool decks ready efficiently and effectively, just in time for summer!
