Morene was looking to get her crawl space sealed and protected, so she called our experts at Ayers. When our crew conducted their free inspection of the area, they recommended we install CleanSpace and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. CleanSpace is an airtight, waterproof, and antimicrobial liner that won't allow mold or bacteria to thrive. Thanks to its vapor barrier property, this will rid her crawl space of harmful moisture buildup. Next, we added our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, the world's highest-performing dehumidifier that will clean and filter the air. Now Morene is assured her crawl space will remain mold and critter-free with this proper encapsulation!
Daniel was having issues with his egress window as water was getting into his basement during heavy rains. He decided to contact Ayers and look for solutions to his home problems. A System Design Specialist with Ayers determined that the window lid and well were not waterproofed, thus allowing water into the basement. The team at Ayers suggested installing a new window cover and lid.
Daniel opted to have the Rockwell Egress Window Cover installed, which will provide a much better seal to the house and stop water from leaking into the window well. Additionally, a Rockwell Escape lid was installed, which made the window look better and provided a waterproof seal! After everything was said and done with Daniel's home, he no longer needed to worry about water leaking into his basement!
Our customer called for help with their wet crawl space. Long term water issues had caused mold to grow and spread throughout the space, making it unpleasant and unsafe.
We installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier system to protect the crawl space from ambient moisture. We also included a sump pump to take care of any influx of water, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifer to control humidity.
Roger wanted to move back to Michigan with his family and create a forever home with the kids and grandkids. He was hoping to someday pass this home along to his children but he needed to home to last that long. Some of the floors in the home were tilting and he was worried that this was a sign of bigger issues with the foundation. When we had our inspection, we noticed that the floors were not being supported like they should, with some areas not really being supported at all. We used SmartJacks to stabilize the floors and even raise them back up to the correct level. These crawl space support posts are adjustable at anytime, in case the home needs it, so that the home is always supported and the homeowner can enjoy it for many years!
We had been engaging in back and forth communication with this couple for a few months after they discovered their crawl space was damp and moldy. Due to worries caused by water issues in the past, they were determined to put an end to the leakage this time around. After meeting with our system design specialist for almost five hours, a plan began to take form on how to eliminate the water for good.
Though several different crawl space products were used – SmartSump, Vent Covers, SaniDry CX dehumidifier, drainage matting – the key to the new system was the barriers put in place that would keep moisture out. The concrete block walls seen in the before picture make for a great foundation, unfortunately, they also make for easily penetrable material for moisture. To seal up the walls, the crew attached SilverGlo insulation walls in front of the concrete blocks. The SilverGlo creates a barrier that moisture won’t be able to pass through, and it will even direct leaking water to the sump pump system. Our CleanSpace vapor barrier will have a similar effect on the dirt floor. Dirt floors don’t offer much protection from humidity or moisture, making them a big part of the mold and standing water problem that was in this crawl space. However, the inorganic plastic liner, CleanSpace, won’t allow mold growth or moisture to permeate. With the full system in place, the owners of this crawl space have no need to worry about floods or mold again.
