Chuck's Rives Junction, MI home was built in 1972. The original builder tried to cut every corner that they could. There was no sump pump, no drain tile, and the block foundation was never sealed properly. The home was experiencing waterproofing and structural issues. There was only one place in the corner of the basement where water crept in, it was a miracle that the home wasn't a swimming pool. Chuck called Ayers for an inspection, and we determined that he would need WaterGuard, CleanSpace Wall System, and TripleSafe sump pump to address the waterproofing needs.
WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top. CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along basement and crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool the home. The TripleSafe sump pump system utilizes three pumps in order to remove excess water from the basement. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so the basement can remain dry, even when the power goes out.
Tina and Chris, proud owners of a historic home in Rives Junction, MI, struggled with water pooling under their staircase and moisture seeping through the stone foundation walls. These issues led to concerns about mold, water damage, and the stability of their home. After installing a WaterGuard® interior drainage system, CleanSpace® vapor barrier, and a TripleSafe™ sump pump with IceGuard® protection, their basement is now dry, secure, and ready to weather Michigan’s toughest conditions.
Nicky's crawl space was riddled with moisture, and she hated the musty smell. She contacted us at Ayers Basement Systems to determine why moisture was accumulating. An inspection determined that water was leaking through the entry to the crawl space. The team suggested installing The Turtl entrance for Nicky's home. The Turtl is made from plastic that won't weather or degrade due to the weather and will provide a watertight seal to Nicky's home!
Crawl spaces are a common area where moisture and cold air can accumulate, causing various issues. Rob and Donna were looking to move into their cabin year-round and wanted to find a solution to the crawl space. After contacting us at Ayers Basement Systems, our team concluded that CleanSpace was perfect for the job. CleanSpace utilizes a heavy-duty liner that lines the entire space, eliminating moisture and outside air!
Grayson had a cracked and settling concrete porch that he wanted to have fixed before he built a deck over it. He wanted to make sure it did not hold water under the deck so it was important to have it lifted. We used PolyLevel to raise the concrete back up to the original level and NexusPro to seal the cracks. PolyLevel is a waterproof and stable foam where NexusPro is a sealant made to withstand harsh weather. Both dry in a fraction of the time compared to other solutions so the process is not an inconvenience.
