Ayers Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Our customer inherited a house and immediately noticed a musty smell. She suspected the crawl space was the culprit, and she was correct.

We used CleanSpace vapor barrier and drainage matting to encapsulate the crawl space and protect it from the dirt floor and everything (like water) that comes with it. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the ambient moisture.

These Lake City, MI homeowner was experiencing water seepage at the footing of one of the walls in the home. In order to seal off the cracks that were allowing water to leak in, we needed to install the SentrySeal system. We first had to remove two feet of soil outside of the problem wall in order to install the SentrySeal membrane around the bottom of the footing to seal the imperfect joint between the wall and footing. This specialized membrane was placed over insulation panels on the wall, which created a tight seal to prevent water from seeping into the home.

Not every waterproofing project requires a full basement system. This Cadillac, MI home was the perfect example of that. Thanks to the slope of the hill that the house was built on, rainwater and thawing snow would regularly flow down to the concrete slab outside of this walkout basement. Since the foundation was already exposed, it was easy for water to end up inside the basement and puddle in the corners nearest to the downspouts.

Our system design specialist came up with a solution to catch and dispose of the water before it had a chance to threaten the basement. First, a TrenchDrain was added next to the concrete slab to catch any water that the gutter missed. Then, by extending the gutter downspouts and connecting them to a LawnScape outlet at the bottom of the slope, the crew was able to push water away from the house and foundation. The drain was connected to the same line as the downspouts for discharge. In the after photo, you can see the entire new system before the crew buried the lines. 

This home was built near a lake and the customer wanted to protect their crawl space. The customer called in our team of experts to encapsulate and transform his crawl space. We installed CleanSpace and our SmartSump sump pump. The combination of these products ensures water and moisture do not seep in through the dirt floor or poured concrete walls and is pumped out immediately.

Most people don't want to go in their crawl space because well...it's gross.  A lot of crawl spaces tend to be neglected because they are not something homeowners particularly like to visit on a daily basis.  Apart from looking gross, they can also house a lot of critters as well.  Upgrading your crawl space will not only help to displace those critters and make the space look better, but it will also help to keep your house seperated from the humidity that comes from the ground.  Paired with our SaniDry Sedona, humidity from the crawl space will cease to exist and you can start seeing energy savings as well as stopping any mold or dust mites that might be looming around the corner.
