Lana’s basement in her Lake Thirteen home was dark and lacked a safe way out—something that worried her with friends, family, and grandchildren often staying over. Wanting to make sure everyone could enjoy the space with peace of mind, she reached out to Ayers for a lasting solution.
We installed a new egress window to provide an emergency exit and bring in more natural light. The RockWell™ window well, complete with built-in stairs, ensures a safe and accessible escape route. Now, Lana’s basement is both safer and more welcoming—a perfect space for hosting loved ones year-round.
Ayers Basement Systems received a call from Rich and Rebecca, who were seeking a solution for the flooding issue in their Elwell, Michigan home. For over two decades, they have been struggling with water intrusion, and with their retirement approaching, they were looking for a permanent fix. They wanted to spend four months of the year at their vacation home and not worry about their house flooding while they were away. After researching multiple companies, they decided to choose Ayers due to our expert team and exceptional reputation. Upon inspection, our crew recommended the installation of Waterguard and our SuperPump Plus to address their concerns.
WaterGuard is a subfloor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top.
Our SuperPump Plus is an excellent solution for those who want to avoid an open sump pit. It effectively captures groundwater and can be connected to our WaterGuard system for drainage. Its airtight lid ensures debris is kept out and children or pets can't fall in, making it a safer option. The SuperPump Plus also has a built-in alarm to alert you if the water level rises too high. Made from durable cast iron, it provides high-volume pumping capabilities.
Rich and Rebecca were thrilled with the installation and the work our crew did on their basement. They feel safe and secure going to their vacation home knowing the house will not flood anytime soon. The couple was so impressed with the level of craftsmanship and professionalism displayed by everyone they interacted with, and can't wait to retire!
George called because even though he had what he thought was a vapor barrier installed in his crawl space, he was still noticing moisture in parts of - mostly the area below the bedrooms. He was older and didn't want to go down there himself, so he asked us to come to an inspection and let him know what would fix it permanently.
Whoever had done work in his crawl space hadn't put down a true barrier, but instead the plastic sheeting many people use just to cover the dirt and think "good enough." Unfortunately it isn't good enough to keep moisture out of your crawl space and home.
We installed CleanSpace vapor barrier with drainage matting in the entire crawl space, which will prevent water issues in the future and keep George's home safe and dry.
Deb and Rob noticed sagging floors, wall cracks, and a sinking beam in their 1970s home. Worried about worsening damage, they turned to Ayers for help. We stabilized their foundation with SmartJack® supports, restoring structural integrity and ensuring their home stays secure for years to come. Now, Deb can finally rest easy knowing their investment is protected.
Paul noticed a musty smell wafting through his home and spreading through the vents. He searched his home and ventured into the crawl space, where he found excessive moisture. He didn't know what to do, so he researched his options and called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. Our professionals visited his home and recommended installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is made of anti-microbial lined material to prevent mold growth and is applied entirely to the crawl space walls and floors to seal out moisture. Paul can't believe that nasty smell was all from some water vapor!
