When these homeowners purchased their Potterville, MI home they thought that the basement water issues had been solved, at least, that’s what they were told. 3 years later, the walls were still leaking and the sump pump that came with the home couldn’t keep up. What these residents needed was a system they could depend on, something like our TripleSafe sump pump. With our most trustworthy sump in the home, these homeowners could be sure that reliability wouldn’t be a problem again. The TripleSafe system – seen in the after photo – has 2 different backup pumps inside. One of those pumps will kick in if the original has too much to deal with and the other turns on in the event of a power failure. The two different discharge lines coming out of the TripleSafe make it possible for the sump to push out water through different pumps without overflowing or back loading the system. This home now has the type of protection it was assured of 3 years before.
When the concrete slab off of their deck started to sink, these Potterville, MI residents gave us a call. We sent our crew out to the home to help this slab with PolyLevel. PolyLevel involves injecting the slab with high-density to help raise the slabs back to their original. These polymers are incredibly strong, yet lightweight. The injection sites ares small, and the cure time is quick, so the slab is raised back to normal the same day, and can be walked on only 15 minutes after installation.
A customer in Potterville was concerned by some unlevel slabs on the walkway of her backyard. So we came take a look at it, and decided to install PolyLevel which is a polymer injection foam that levels and strengthens the concrete. PolyLevel worked to raise and level out the concrete slabs while dealing with the weak soils below that were no longer able to hold the weight of the home above. We drilled multiple small holes into the concrete slabs in order to inject them with a polymer material that expanded to lift and level out the concrete. Once injected, the system only needed about 15 minutes to fully cure and the slabs were then stabilized and lifted to their proper level, and stronger than ever before. Now, this homeowner will not have to worry about this ever again.
This homeowner has a crawl space under the addition but when it rains a lot, water seeps in. During the summer, the heat keeps the area fairly dry but it still has moisture in it. We were called because she wanted it to be sealed off to keep it dry. First, we put down drainage matting so that water in the crawl space could move and be directed to the sump pump. Second we installed the CleanSpace liner which is a thick durable liner similar to a pool liner. It prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through. By keeping your crawl space dry, your structure and insulation is protected from mold and rot.
Many homeowners are not satisfied with their crawl space area. Typically they’re damp, musty, filled with miscellaneous debris and lack proper ventilation ー all ingredients fueling a recipe for disaster.
However, at Ayers Basement Systems we take pride in mastering the art of crawl space encapsulation and waterproofing. In the case of Jennifer M.’s damp Potterville crawl space, the solution was simple: Clean Space Vapor Barrier System.
First, we sealed all of the doors and vents so that outside air and humidity was no longer able to sneak in. Next we installed a crawl space drain and sump pump system. When combined, the drain and sump pump eliminates and removes any flooding water. Lastly, the area is encapsulated with our Vapor Barrier liner, a thick, durable liner that traps all other moisture in the air and ground. Without moisture, your crawl space will become smell-free and fungi-free.
After following all of the steps above we were able to completely transform Jennifer’s debris-filled, moist crawl space into a dry, ideal one.
