When this Grand Rapids, MI customer started to notice mold growing on his basement drywall, he knew he couldn’t wait any longer to patch up the leak. The crew went to his home armed with the FlexiSpan system. FlexiSpan is a two-layer waterproof sealant that won’t permit water to pass through or mold to grow. As you can see in the before photo, the water that leaked through would run down the wall and cause most of its damage at the foot of the wall. The darker portion of floor in the after photo is where concrete was poured after the team installed a drainage system to collect any leaking water. While the drainage system will dispose of water, it won’t stop the leak. But, the first layer of FlexiSpan will. Using the first layer of the sealant to plug the leak and the second for a drainage route, creates a system almost impenetrable by water. And on the off chance that water does make it through the seal, the drainage system will be there to carry it away.
We received a call from some homeowners from Grand Rapids that was having issues with their squeaky floorboards, so we drove to their home to see for ourselves. After inspection we decided to install our advanced SmartJack system. The SmartJack is a support system used to stabilize and level the floor joists in a crawl space. This system can support up to 60,000 pounds. The SmartJack system is placed on strong concrete fillings that have replaced the soil in that small location underneath the SmartJack. Now this homeowner will not have to worry about bad floors ever again.
This commercial building was turned into a home consisting of a basement workspace however water was starting to leak in. We were able to help with a WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. In this finished space, some of the wood was removed from the wall to expose the framing. A small amount of the framing was cut out from the base of the wall to allow for concrete to be broken up. WaterGuard could be placed right on the home's footing, stone could be filled in around it, and then the concrete replaced. Now the framing could be repaired, wood placed back on the wall, and cabinets put back in place. This was a lot of work and was a bit of an inconvenience I'm sure, but when building materials are being ruined and the homeowner is spending his time cleaning up moisture with a wet vac rather than working, it becomes totally worth it for that extra time, money, and peace of mind that you were missing before. This workspace is now safe from flooding.
This Grand Rapids homeowner had a crawl space with a dirt floor and wanted it to be sealed off. He called us for a solution to sealing it off and making it cleaner. We installed the CleanSpace Crawl Space Vapor Barrier. The CleanSpace is a thinck, durable liner that looks similar to a pool liner. It prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through into your crawl space. By keeping the space dry, it also protects the stucture from mold and rot.
Miriam decided to encapsulate her crawl space. Her crawl space walls and floor are made of concrete and she wants to protect it from the earth. We installed our CleanSpace Liner and drainage matting. The drainage matting creates a barrier between the liner and the ground, keeping any possible water outside of the crawlspace. The CleanSpace liner is made of a durable plastic similar to a pool liner. The liner protects the crawlspace from allowing any water vapor to enter that could create mold and bacteria growth detrimental to the family’s health.
