EverLast Window and SuperSump Dry Out Charlotte Basement

With water coming from the corner of the basement AND around the window, this customer was at her wit's end trying to fix the leak and resulting mold. She had already tried everything from a window well cover to backfilling the area outside to reduce the leakage with no luck. Then she called Ayers.

We installed a SuperSump system and Everlast Window as well as a WellDuct window drain to direct all of the water to our WaterGuard floor drain system, and now her basement is dry and mold-free.

PolyLevel Helps Levels Out Charlotte, MI Steps

A realtor called us out to fix a few leaks before she had the basement finished and house placed on the market.

The ground directly in front of the home's porch had begun to sink. It may not be the worst problem to have, but it certainly doesn’t boost the listing price. PolyLevel is a noninvasive, waterproof foam designed to raise and level concrete that has begun settling into the soil. Thanks to a quick injection of PolyLevel by our production crew, the porch steps are as good as new. (Warning: There is no guarantee that snow will melt after a PolyLevel injection.)

Pouring a New Porch in Charlotte, MI

One of the newest products we have here at Ayers is shotcrete, and it’s pretty awesome. If you haven’t already, I highly suggest you check it out. This new process gives us the ability to create new concrete foundations almost anywhere, and a lot of customers have been taking advantage of it.

We received a call from a customer in Charlotte, MI where we had installed a waterproofing system last year. She had heard about our new service and was interested in having a new, slightly wider front porch. The first step for the team was removing the worn out concrete. Once the frame for the new slab was laid out and the support for the roof ensured, it was as simple as shooting concrete out of a fire hose. Which, as it turns out, is actually a pretty quick process. The after photo was taken when the slab was finished being poured. The crew would later return when the concrete was drier and reinstall the column supports.

If you’re interested in enjoying the summer breeze from a brand new front porch as well, then give us a call to find out more about our Shotcrete services.

Geo-Lock Anchors and PowerBrace Save a Bowing Wall in Charlotte, MI

The before photo of this basement shows the horizontal crack of a bowing wall, originally mistaken by the homeowner for a simple water leak. After the crew became aware of the foundation, they took both PowerBrace beams and Geo-Lock anchors with them to Charlotte, MI. The wall plates, seen in the after photo, are connected by steel rods to Earth anchors that were placed at a safe distance from the foundation in stronger, untouched soil. While the anchors pull the wall backward towards its original position, the PowerBrace system beams will push the wall from the inside. Since the homeowner was right about having a leakage problem with the horizontal crack, the crew also sealed up the crack using a joint sealer, the black stuff. With double the protection from bowing walls and a sealed crack, this basement and foundation are both fully protected.

Protecting a Charlotte, MI Basement with FloodRing

The crew took a trip out to Charlotte, MI to help out a customer that we had been in contact with for quite some time. Once she realized that her basement waterproofing problems were only worsening, she decided it was time to do something about it. Water was coming into her basement from multiple different areas, but this before and after focuses on the leaky water heater. Water heaters are one of the most common causes of basement flooding. Their leaking is usually a sign that it’s time for a repair or replacement.

To prevent this leakage - or one in the future - from flooding the entire basement, we installed a water heater flood protection system called FloodRing. Once the ring was firmly sealed to the ground, it held the leaking water to an isolated area of the basement. The portion of the floor that is slightly off color in the after photo shows where the concrete was excavated to connect a perimeter drainage system. Any water collected in the ring will then be discharged through the system and no longer threaten the basement. Thanks to FloodRing and several other waterproofing products, this basement is dry and protected.
