Before Mike could sell his new home, he knew he would have to do something about his old crawl space. He knew that it might need to be encapsulated because of the moisture issues it was facing.  Our system design specialist came to a similar conclusion after discovering mold.

The crew took a trip to Canadian Lakes, MI and brought the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System with them. Seen on the walls of the after photo, CleanSpace is impenetrable by moisture or water vapor, and its’ inorganic material won’t permit mold to grow again. It should be noted that this isn’t a complete before and after. Before the project was completed, the crew also covered the floor with the CleanSpace liner. It’s left out in this picture to show the drainage matting that was also installed. The matting will prevent water from puddling in any one place and will direct water and the moisture issues of the past out of Mike’s crawl space. 

The moisture issues in this crawl space were turning it into a disaster. Mold was growing on the wooden floor joists, the insulation in the ceiling was hanging, and even the vents were starting to rust. Since the owners only used the cottage part time, they had no idea just how bad their crawl space was. But when they found out, they knew they would need a permanent solution. Our crew gave them one with the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. CleanSpace is an inorganic plastic liner that can be used to encapsulate both a crawl space’s floor and walls. Which is perfect since a dirt floor is one of the major sources of entry for outside air. The plastic material won’t allow for mold growth or moisture permeation. CleanSpace Vapor barrier is the perfect product to protect your crawl space from moisture. 

This Stanwood couple wanted to have their crawl space encapsulated due to dampness and cold air in the crawl space. They were also worried that snakes, spiders, and rodents would get into the home from the crawl space without it being "sealed off." We installed Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace Liner to keep out pests, water vapor, and humidity from the crawl space as well as the home.

After a free inspection, our team encapsulated the crawl space and installed a dehumidifier to seal out moisture and prevent mold growth. The basement in this Burlington, MI basement had a couple of beams that were sagging pretty significantly. They needed some strong supports to help straighten them. Our crew installed a series of SmartJacks. To install these jacks, we remove a small amount of concrete and a cube of earth underneath. That gets filled in with compacted stone, the footing gets set on top of that, and the concrete is replaced. This creates a situation in which the weight that the jack is supporting is transferred deep into the ground past troubled soils. The jacks are adjustable and not only support an incredible amount of weight, but they come with an opportunity to lift the floors and walls above to their original position. These jacks significantly straightened the sagging beams.
