The owners of this Ludington, MI home had grown accustomed to water leakage from their walls and overflow in the drainage area. After all, it had been a regular occurrence in their basement during heavy rains and snow melt, and with all the construction that was happening to their home, they didn’t have a chance to do anything about it. But since the construction was finally complete, they wanted to put an end to the leaks once and for all. The after photo shows how our crew was able to do so.
The white liner covering the walls is the CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier. Impenetrable by moisture, the liner separates the leaking wall from the rest of the basement as it escorts water down to a drainage system at the foot of the wall. The drainage system, WaterGuard, sits in the foot and wall joint around the perimeter of the basement to collect water and direct it to the SuperSump system in the after photo. Capable of discharging over 2,000 gallons of water per hour, the SuperSump will be able to stand up to any rainfall or melting snow that the basement encounters.

John G. contacted us because he noticed a musty odor coming from his crawl space that was located under his sun porch. There was mold found in the space in the past, and the homeowner wanted to encapsulate the area and prevent further issues. The open vents and sand floor in the crawl space was allowing moisture to easily enter, which was the cause of the high humidity levels, musty smell and mold growth. We used the CleanSpace liner to fully encapsulate the space. The liner was waterproof and vapor proof, which prevented excess moisture from occupying the area. We also installed vent covers to create an airtight seal between the crawl space and the outside world. To insulate the space we installed FrothPak spray foam. This spray foam insulation doesn’t absorb ambient moisture like fiberglass insulation and is made of inorganic materials that will not lead to mold growth.

Since 1996, Rick, a homeowner in Ludington, MI, has faced the anxiety of water in his basement. In the early years of living there, he wasn’t overly concerned about the occasional water intrusion, as it felt manageable. However, this year, Rick realized that his home needed extra storage space and that his basement was his only option. With that in mind, he grew increasingly aware of the challenges posed by the water in his basement, knowing there was no way to keep his belongings safe and protected. During a free inspection and estimate with Ayers, it became clear that Rick had a significant water problem. The years of damage on his walls, alongside the unsettling black spots on the floors and a sump pump that desperately needed replacing, highlighted the urgency of addressing the issue. Rick knew it was time to take charge and protect his home. The solution involved installing a full-perimeter waterproofing system, which would be a game changer for Rick. WaterGuard was strategically placed around the exterior walls to collect the seeping water. This system would channel the accumulated water to a brand new TripleSafe sump pump, actively working to discharge it outside the home, providing Rick with much-needed peace of mind. To further enhance the space, Cleanspace was installed on the walls; not only did it serve as a vapor barrier to combat the musty smell, but it also helped guide water down to WaterGuard, transforming the basement into a brighter and more inviting area. With these state-of-the-art products and systems in place, Rick can finally breathe a sigh of relief. He can now store his belongings in the basement without the looming fear of damage from water. His home is permanently protected, allowing him to feel secure about the integrity of the basement.
John was concerned when her first-level floors began to slop so she contacted Ayers Basement for an inspection. Upon arrival, our foreman Evan was able to diagnose the issue, telling Janet that her foundation has begun to settle.
Bruce prescribed a set of SmartJack piers that would reinforce the Supportworks. The ground surrounding the foundation became unfirm due to the amount of water collecting around the base of the home. To correct this issue Bruce installed a TripleSafe sump pump, with three levels of protection against floods, to help control the amount of water around the home. Finally, he fitted the home with an IceGuard modification to ensure the pipes flow regularly, year-round.
Tom B. has a home in Ludington, MI that suffers from water seepage due to a high water table. Water seeping into a basement can create lots of problems beyond soaking the floor such as sticking windows and doors and musty odors. Thus, Tom gave us a call for a professional solution.
We installed two of our great, patented products for this job: the SuperSump premier sump pump system and the WaterGuard French drain system. The SuperSump is a sump pump specifically designed to keep your basement dry for long periods of time. Capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour, it is suitable for heavy water intrusion.
The WaterGuard drain sits above the foundation footing but below the basement floor, collecting water that leaks into the basement from the walls. Once this water is in the drain, it is redirected to the sump pump -- the SuperSump, in this case -- to be pumped up and out of the home.
Gary L. of Ludington, MI had to tear up carpet in his basement because it had been soaked with water. This was no water spill -- this was a leak from the exterior. Because of the damage that can be caused by water leaking into a basement, Gary gave us a call.
We installed one of our favorite duos: the TripleSafe sump pump system and the WaterGuard French drain system. The TripleSafe is a sump pump that provides three levels of protection against water leakage. Whether it be normal water supply, heavy volumes of water, or in the case of a power outage, this sump pump will keep your basement dry. For normal water supply, the Zoeller ⅓ horsepower pump functions. At a heavier level, the Zoeller ½ horsepower pump activates. In the case of a power outage, the UltraSump backup sump pump will pump water on a backup battery.
The WaterGuard drain rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. After this water is collected it is directed to the sump pump to be pumped up and out of the basement. The sump pump here, of course, is the TripleSafe.
These two systems work in perfect harmony to provide the best waterproofing for Gary's basement.
Elsa W. of Ludington, MI was subject to water issues in her basement and wanted a sump pump that would take care of these issues.
The product we felt would be best for Elsa is our patented TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe provides three levels of protection against water leakage.
This all-around proactive pump will assure complete peace of mind against basement water issues.
Eric A. from Ludington was experiencing a floor in his home that was uneven and slanting toward the main support wall. He had horizontal and vertical cracks -- a couple that were 6" long and one that was 3" above a window. He also had water in his crawl space because the house in on a high water table.
To remedy this problem, we installed our SmartJack crawl space stabilizers. SmartJack is an adjustable support system for sagging crawl spaces. It not only offers support, but can often lift falling floor beams back to their original position.
Kathy B. of Ludington, MI wanted a way to prevent flooding in case something happened to her sump pump.
We provided her with the UltaSump battery backup system. In the event of loss of power the battery backup will automatically kick in and begin removing water from your basement, preventing a flood. The battery backup also comes with an alarm to alert you in case of power failure, sounding when the backup pump is running and silencing when power is restored.
