Heavy Rain Leads to Potential Flooding in Kalamazoo, Jackson, Lansing

Kalamazoo, MI - Western Michigan has been experiencing heavy rain throughout the past week. The rainfall has the potential to cause localized flooding and ponding on roadways and there was a flood watch issued for Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Eaton, Ionia, Kalamazoo, Jackson, Lansing, St. Joseph and Van Buren.
In many areas heavy snow has followed the rain. Some Michigan towns have seen up to 9.5 inches of snow. This snow storm has left thousands with out power and is causing dangerous road conditions in Lansing, Saginaw, Detroit, Jackson, Battle Creek and Kalamazoo as the rain freezes on the streets.
