PowerBraces are designed to stabilize failing basement walls.
The fieldstone walls in the before photo were allowing water to easily come into this basement. Since he was concerned about the possible effects of the saturation, the owner gave us a call for a solution. Our cure for all things moisture or water vapor related is the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is a plastic liner that won’t allow mold to grow or moisture to pass through. As you can see in the after photo, at the foot of the wall there also sits a perimeter drainage system. Before the installation was completed, the crew covered the system with concrete. While CleanSpace won’t stop the wall from leaking completely, it will direct the water from those leaks into the Waterguard drainage system for discharge. Neither water or its vapor will reach the inside of this CleanSpace system.
Ayers always look out for our customers, even after we perform a project to their satisfaction. Kathy is one of these customers. After waterproofing her basement back in 2007, Kathy then noticed the wall leaning, causing a crack within the wall. Knowing that Ayers can provide PowerBraces, which can stabilize her walls and foundation, she called us right back to get them installed.

We not only adhere to the highest industry standards, we strive to be the industry leader in the home improvement related services we provide. We also use state-of-the-art products and technology which are designed to fix your home. We are the authorized Basement Systems dealer in Shiawassee County, MI.
As is often the case, our customers had a few problems on their property, but it was the settling of their gardening building that prompted them to call. When the garage door for the building stopped closing properly, their contractor discovered that the support slab was cracked and the floor had sunk 2-3" in places. The culprit? Likely the nearby irrigation system, which helped the soil wash away and destabilized the foundation.
They also had a few leaning retaining walls and some slabs in their driveway that had shifted and settled, but at this time their main focus was the garage.
We used GeoLock Wall Anchors and PolyLevel to raise the slab and stabilize the walls, rerouted some drainage to circumvent the soil washout, and made plans to return in the future when they were ready to proceed with the other issues.
We were called to inspect a rental property in Allendale that had high rates of water accumulation where the walls met the floor. We discovered that the floor was monolithic - that is, the floor and footer were poured together in one piece rather than separately - and so we needed to use a special waterproofing system.
Because monolithic floors are a floor/footer combination, they're much thicker than traditional floors, so jackhammering them takes forever and creates endless dust. So instead of the traditional WaterGuard installation, we used the DryTrak drainage system. DryTrak installs above the floor and looks similar to baseboard. It collects water from the floor/wall joint and directs it to the sump pump for discharge.
Along with the DryTrak, we installed a new sump pump and put IceGuard and a Lawnscape outlet on the discharge line to prevent backups and allow the line to be buried.
Sara K. of Laingsburg, MI dealt with a moist crawl space that was fostering mold before she called us. There was a constant humidity in the entire house, as well. Mold and humidity can create serious health issues like asthma and serious home issues like sticking doors and windows.
To remedy this problem, we installed our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. CleanSpace is a 20mm thick plastic lining that fully blocks off the crawl space from the surrounding elements. No dirt, cold air, water, or humidity will enter. As a bonus, CleanSpace is made with anti-microbial components, disallowing the growth of mold.
Karen P. from Laingsburg, MI had her basement finished just to have water appear afterward. This is not good -- water in a basement can cause mold growth and humidity in the basement and the home itself. Because of this, she gave us a call.
To solve her problem, we installed our patented WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard sits below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, collecting water that leaks in from the walls. The water is then redirected to the home's sump pump, and pumped outside.
Karen P. of Laingsburg, MI have a mostly finished basement but were experiencing water problems in the corner of the basement. Thus, Karen called us for a professional solution.
Our fix? The WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing collecting water that seeps into the basement from its walls. Once this water is collected, it is redirected ot the usm pump to be pumped up and out of the home.
Tom K. of Laingsburg, MI had a home inspection done a few weeks ago and found moisture on the floor next to the foundation wall. He didn't know where the water was coming from and needed a permanent fix.
Our solution? The SuperSump premier sump pump system and the WaterGuard French drain system. We started out the project by installing the SuperSump. The SuperSump is a sump pump specifically designed to keep your basement dry for long periods of time. Capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour, it is suitable for heavy water intrusion.
Next we moved onto the WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard sits below the basement floor and above the foundation footing collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. Once this water is caught it is redirected to the sump pump and pumped up and out of the home.
Todd M. of Laingsburg, MI has cinderblock basement walls. Before calling us, there were both vertical and horizontal cracks in the basement walls probably caused by bowing. With the house being built in the 1970s, Todd reached out for professional help.
Our solution to Todd's problem would prove to be the installation of the PowerBrace foundation wall repair system. PowerBrace is a foundation wall repair system that stabilizes tilting, bowing, or buckling basement walls. The system uses steel I-beams that secure to the joists above the wall.
With this installation, Todd had no need to worry about a failing foundation any longer.
Bob felt his crawl space was getting really cold in the winter and really hot during the Summer. It was always dusty and full of spiders. His house was built in 1952 with cement block walls and a sand floor.
We installed out CleanSpace liner and drainage matting. The drainage matting is installed to separate the crawl space from the earth. It keeps any water or moisture from entering into the crawl space. The CleanSpace liner is made of a durable plastic, similar to that of a pool liner, that encapsulates your crawl space. It is puncture and tear resistant. Additionally, it has an ingredient made right into the plastic that prevents mold and bacteria growth.
