Which Sump Pump is Right for Me?

Which Sump Pump is Right for Me? - Image 1

When you have water in your basement or crawl space, it’s easy to understand that you need a sump pump. It’s more difficult to decide WHICH sump pump, though. How many pumps do you need? Should you get a battery backup? Do you need multiple units? It’s enough to make your head spin.

Luckily, you have us. After inspecting your home’s water issues, your system design specialist will recommend the sump pump system that will work best. But here’s a breakdown of different pumps and features, and when they’re often called for.

SmartSump

The SmartSump is designed for use in crawl spaces. It contains a powerful primary Zoeller â…“ horsepower pump that can remove 2500 gallons of water per hour at a 4 foot “head,” which basically means the vertical distance to get up and out of the crawl space. It’s also designed specifically to work with our crawl space encapsulation system.

SuperSump

Another â…“ horsepower pump, the SuperSump is designed to work in basements that have occasional water issues but not severe flooding. It can pump 2200 gallons of water an hour at an 8 foot head.

UltraSump

The UltraSump battery backup system can be added to the Smart or Super sump pump systems. The UltraSump starts up in the event of a power failure and can pump over 11000 gallons of water on a single battery charge. It will also sound an alarm that lets you know the power to the sump pump is out (maybe there’s a power outage, but maybe the plug just got disconnected accidentally).

TripleSafe

If your basement experiences a high influx of water - maybe you live in an area with a high water table so everything floods easily and often - the TripleSafe is a reliable choice. As you’ve probably guessed by the name, the TripleSafe contains three pumps all in the same liner. The first is the same â…“ horsepower Zoeller pump from the previously mentioned models; it can pump 2200 gallons of water per hour. The second is a powerful ½ horsepower pump that can discharge another 3900 gallons per hour. And the UltraSump battery backup pump comes integrated into the system as the third pump.

Which one?

As shown by their pumping power, there’s a sump pump to fit both small and large water issues. If you just have occasional water when it rains, the SuperSump might better fit your needs; but if your home is constantly flooding, you may need the TripleSafe in conjunction with our waterproofing system to keep the water under control and out of your home.

Regardless of your home’s needs, we can design a system that will keep it safe, comfortable, and dry. Call today to schedule a free inspection and let us do the rest.
