Mr. Oshay was looking to redo a fixer-upper. The boarded up windows were a sign to Mr. Oshay that he had his work cut out for him. When he invited our foreman Evan in for an inspection, Even noticed a large number of cracks in his basement brick walls. The Cracks had progressed to the point that 2 of the walls were already bowing.
To remedy the issue, Evan and his team installed a set of GeoLock anchors. The outside of the bowed wall is excavated where a steel anchor is driven into the ground, and on the other side is a flat metal plate. The plate is bolted to the cracked wall and attached to the anchor on the other side. Once the pieces are aligned, the connecting screw is tighter till there is constant pressure being applied to the wall. The pressure corrects the wall and holds it in place, making it a permanent solution to Mr. Oshay's wall problem.
Mitchell noticed a large number of cracks on his basement brick walls. Not wanting to take any risks, he contacted Ayers. Upon arrival, our foreman Randy was able to listen to the home owner's concerns and inspect the area. He found bowing on many of the walls and prescribed GeoLock anchors to correct the problem.
GeoLock anchors are installed by digging out the soil outside of the cracked wall. A large metal anchor is secured in place and reburied. On the opposite side inside the home, a large metal plate is alined with the anchor and tightened till constant pressure pulls the wall back into place and permanently holds it there.
Tony was over having to deal with water leaks causing trouble in his home after a failed DIY attempt to fix his problems himself years ago. He called up Ayers for a long-lasting, trustworthy solution. After inspection our crew decided he could use our WaterGuard Drainage System, TripleSafe Sump Pump System, and our IceGuard.
The WaterGuard solution is a sub-floor drainage system that is installed along the perimeter of your basement that will catch water or dirt and direct the flow to your drainage and sump pump system. Concrete is poured over this system to conceal it and you can have regular flooring installed over this as well if you want. TripleSafe consists of three pumps that fit in one liner that work to keep water out of your basement. The first pump is the main leader in keeping water out and the second will run if assistance is needed or the first fails. The last pump will turn on if the power goes out as it is battery-operated. The last installation was our IceGuard which was installed on the outside of his home and will prevent his discharge lines from freezing or clogging in the cold weather.
Tony was happy to replace his DIY fix and have a trustworthy waterproofing system installed instead so he now is worry free from water leaks ruining his property!

This cold, damp basement in Sginaw, MI was costing the owner untold dollars in utility bills. A damp crawl space or basement also promotes the growth of mold and the onset of rot, which means more repair bills in the future. We got to sealing and insulating this crawl space with our CleanSpace Crawl Space vapor barrier system that uses a bright white crawl space liner which we installed on the walls and floors. The liner prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through from the walls and floor.
The great news is that the crawl space insulation materials that we installed in this house are compatible with our crawl space encapsulation and drainage systems to ensure a dry, healthy, comfortable crawl space!
This Saginaw home was sinking on one side near the kitchen and crawl space. On the outside of the problem area, bricks were splitting and there was some noticeable settling on the front porch. This family called us to fix the problem and give them piece of mind that the home was not going anywhere. We used Helical Piers to stabilize the home and potentially lift the home back to the original level. These piers can be installed year round and the installation is fast and effective. We also used Push Piers for areas where the soil condition was unknown. These piers also have fast, effective installation and there is minimal disturbance during install. With these piers, the home was secured so that it would not settle anymore and the cracks would not get worse.
Anna's foundation was experiencing severe bowing that she thought might be from some tree roots in her yard. The walls looked like they were caving in and she knew that this problem was a growing concern in her house.
Our team installed the GeoLock Anchor System which permanently stabilized Anna's wall. In most cases, it can eventually straighten the wall back to its original position. It is done by putting heavy anchors in stable soil away from your foundation wall. This system is ideal because it involves minimal disturbance to Anna's lawn and home.
Anna won't have to worry about her foundation caving in on her now that the system is installed. She can rest easy knowing that her walls are secure and can be adjusted if ever needed.
Lynne needed a remedy to a leak through her egress window well and the sagging of the main floor. Our team came out and repaired the well with the SunHouse Basement Window Enclosure. This enclosure is made from extremely durable plastic so it won't rust, erode, or need to be painted in the future. Lynne also opted in to have the well include the SunHouse plastic cover which will keep out pests, water, and debris, but still ensure you get natural sunlight in your basement or crawl space. Now Lynne will be able to enjoy her sunlight without worrying about the consequences of a leaking window well.
Our team installed SmartJacks, a system produced to halt sloping and sagging floors. Floors above basements and crawl spaces are vulnerable due to the damp nature of the lowest floor. The SmartJack system is a permanent fix to these issues. It uses steel columns, threaded rods and a solid base to address any problems your basement may have. Installing this system usually takes less than a day and it provides immediate stabilization. Lynne will not have to worry about the sagging floor or any further foundation problems a sagging floor might indicate.
Linda had water coming into her crawl space through the door-like opening. She suspected that it wasn't sealed properly with all the moisture coming into her crawl space so she called our team. Our team came out and installed an EverLast Crawl Space Door and a SmartSump Sump Pump.
Typical wood crawl space doors can deteriorate over time and can allow insects and other pests to get in your crawl space. Not to mention, wood leaves room for outside air which makes the space cold and damp. Everlast doors are made from thick PVC Plastic and secured with weatherproof knobs. Unlike wood, it won't shrink or deteriorate over time and it won't require any maintenance. Once installed, the door will ensure that your space is sealed off from outside intrusions and keeps the space warm. The SmartSump Sump Pump has a unique lid design so that water can drain down but the damp air will not sneak back up into your space. When there is an indication of flooding an alarm will sound to alert you so you have plenty of time to take action and additionally you can also have a battery-powered backup installed so your pump will work in power outages.
Linda’s crawl space is now sealed off from the moisture that was getting in through the previous door. This will help keep the space controlled and dry so that Linda will have less worries about things like mold and flooding.
Nicole and her husband were new empty nesters and were in the process of deciding on whether to sell their Saginaw, MI home or make renovations to prepare for retirement. The bowing basement walls didn't help their decision and meant they had to fix it whether they sold the home or not. Even though there was no signs of water intrusion, the walls were in the advanced stage of bowing. Our team reinforced the walls using carbon fiber fabric straps which is quick to install and requires no excavation. The CarbonArmor system will prevent the walls from bowing any further and give this family peace of mind that their basement walls will not collapse.
Ryann lives in an 1880s farm house that has one spot where the floors are continuously sinking. The spot is over where the old fireplace used to be but when it was removed, the support was not restored and some old blocks were crumbling near the same area. She wants to sell the home as quickly as possible so the floors need to be fixed in order to put the home up for sale. We installed a supplemental beam to add support to the floors where there was none. We also installed SmartJacks to stabilize the beam and floors where the blocks were no longer doing their job. SmartJacks are secured to the floor joists and not only stop further sinking but can be adjusted to lift the floors back to a level position. This permanent solution means the homes flooring is safe and secure for the new homeowners!
Oshay bought a fixer-upper in hopes she could rent out the property for supplemental income. She wanted to bring tenants in right away but needed to get her foundation concerns addressed first. Oshay noticed some bowing walls and moisture in the basement so she called Ayers.
After inspection, our crew determined that GeoLock Wall Anchors would be perfect for Ohshay's home. A GeoLock Wall Anchor is a steel plate that is drilled onto your basement wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate, the wall, and through the soil on the outside of your home. Another plate is placed on the other side of the cable, ensuring Oshay's walls not move or bow in the future. She was grateful for the work our crew did to make sure the home was safe and secure for future renters.
Tom and his wife moved into their 1970s home in May of 2020 and never had any water issues up until about 6 months ago. He first started seeing water come up through the drain in the middle of the floor and spent a lot of time pushing the water to the sump pump, but the water always came back. He got an inspection done by another company, but hey didn’t notice that the entire sump pump system was clogged. Tom went with Ayers and we determined that he would need a new TripleSafe sump pump, WaterGuard, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
The TripleSafe sump pump system system utilizes three pumps in order to remove excess water from the basement. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so the basement can remain dry, even when the power goes out. WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top. Finally, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier automatically removes up to 100 pints of water a day from the air in the home’s basement. This system circulates the now dry air through the basement and automatically removes the leftover water so you don’t have to.
Tom and his wife were ecstatic that they don’t have to deal with a flooded basement ever again. They have a granddaughter on the way and can’t wait for her to be able to play safely in the basement!
Angela's home has an unfinished basement used as a rec room. She wanted to replace three of the windows down there because water comes in and a white chalky substance sticks to the floors. It smelled musty and they were worried about possible mold growth. She called Ayers for an inspection and we knew we could do the job for Angela perfectly.
We replaced the existing windows with new and added an egress window in case for safety. Egress windows from Ayers bring safety and beauty in one. Building codes require that basement living spaces must have a large enough window to safely evacuate in case of emergency. Our windows have built-in steps and durable covers that hold up to 500 pounds.
Angela was so grateful we could complete this job in a timely manner and keep her kids safe from potential mold growth. She can’t wit for her kids to enjoy the basement safely.
Antrovel had a problem with his foundation. The foundation, a block foundation, began bowing on two different walls. Thus, water began leaking into the basement through cracks that had formed. After calling Ayers to find a solution, a specialist came out to his home to make an assessment.
After the inspection, the team at Ayers decided that the PowerBrace System would be perfect for the job! The PowerBrace System are steel beams that are secured to the floor joist above a home's foundation. Once the system is secured, they are tightened, pulling the walls back into place and stabilizing the wall over time! Antrovel was happy to have found a solution that stabilized his home!
Margo gave us a call over concerns of her foundation walls. Her walls were bowing and she needed a professional eye to take a look at these issues. Our Ayers crew set out for inspection and determined installing PowerBrace along with our CarbonArmor would be the best solution for these issues.
PowerBrace is made up of a steel beam that gets secured to joists above the wall with steel brackets. This will stop any movement happening with the walls so they won't shift out of place. This will also straighten the wall and this system is even able to be tightened. Next, with the CarbonArmor installed this will prevent her walls from bowing by preventing inward movement and reducing cracks in her wall.
Margo is happy to have these serious foundation issues addressed and corrected so she is assured of her home's safety!
Jenna and Joe realized that moisture had begun accumulating on the wall in their basement. The couple peeled back the wall covering, looking for the problem, and saw that even more water had gathered on the cement wall. The couple decided to contact Ayers to determine the underlying problem. Ayers sent a Specialist to conduct a thorough inspection and decide what should be done.
After their home inspection, the Ayers team thought the best course would be installing TripleSafe, WaterGuard, and BrightWall. WaterGuard was installed around the inside perimeter of the walls. WaterGuard is a French drain system that sits between the home's footing and the basement floor, and it catches water leaking through the walls and funnels it toward a sump pump. While there was already a sump pump in their home, the couple decided to install an additional pump, the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe sump pump house two powerful pumps within the same liner. The first pump, the lowest in the liner, runs all the time efficiently. If the first pump can't keep up or has a problem, the second pump, which Is more powerful, will save the day. In the event of a power outage, the secondary pump is equipped with an external battery, meaning it will still run.
Lastly, BrightWall was installed where the water was leaking through the walls. BrightWall is composed of rigid plastic that attaches to the wall, creating a moisture barrier and preventing mold. The water from the walls will drain behind the BrightWall and directly to the WaterGuard. Jenna and Joe were pleased to have their home waterproofed and looking much better!
Tony was tired of dealing with water leaks after the DIY attempt to fix it failed. He gave Ayers a call so we sent out a crew to inspect these issues. It was determined that he would need our WaterGuard, Triple Safe Sump Pump System, and our IceGuard.
Our WaterGuard solution consists of a sub-floor drainage system that works to keep water and dirt away from your foundation. It runs along the perimeter of your basement and is placed on top of the footing of your foundation. The water gets directed to your drainage and sump pump system and then concrete will be poured over this in order to conceal it. Then we installed our Triple Safe Sump Pump System which fits three pumps in one liner. The first pump will do the main job of keeping water out while the second will run if the first pump fails or needs more assistance. The last pump is battery-operated which means it will turn on in emergency power outages. Finally, we installed IceGuard to ensure the drainage lines don't freeze or clog in this cold winter weather!
Tony now has a resolution to his frustrations he was having trying to fix these water leaks himself!
Kathleen was dealing with sagging floors due to her rotting support beam in her crawl space. She saw that Ayers sold crawl space solutions so she gave us a call. We had a crew come to her home for a free inspection and then it was settled that she would need our SmartJacks.
The great thing about SmartJacks is that they are meant exactly for this issue, putting a halt to any sagging floors. SmartJacks are made up of steel columns, threaded rods, and a solid base that addresses these sagging floors and ensures the home remains well supported. After the posts are installed they get adjusted to raise the floors to a level position. Adding to its efficiency and strength, it is manufactured with a triple-layer, in-line galvanized coating.
Kathy was thankful to finally get these rotting beams replaced with a more trustworthy and permanent solution!
