Taking Care of Water Issues in This Flint Home

Kareen and her son want to get her home in tip top shape so if they need to sell in the next couple years, all the issues are taken care of. There has been water coming into her partially finished basement where the walls and floors meet as well as from the wall itself. There were cracks outside of the home on the foundation wall and some inside where the water was leaking through. We used PowerBraces to keeps the cracks from getting larger and to help return the wall to the original position. We then installed the WaterGuard Below Floor Drain to collect any water that seeps in and sends it to the sump pump that Kareen already had in her basement so the water could be discharged outside the home.

Barry was having trouble with mold and cold temperatures in his crawl space. This indicates that Barry's' space is not energy efficient and susceptible to outside elements. As a remedy, our team installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is plastic sheet material used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. Not only does this system create an energy-efficient crawl space, but it also gives your crawl space a clean finish. It is applied to the floors and walls to create that uninterrupted barrier to restrict air movement and control the temperature in the crawl space. Repairing Crumbling Foundation in Flint, MI

Roseanne's basement has a block foundation with paneling on the walls. Water damage had caused one section of the wall to begin crumbing onto the floor from behind the paneling. She called Ayers Basement Systems for an inspection and our crew determined that Roseanne would need WaterGuard and a TripleSafe sump pump with IceGuard and an exterior discharge line to waterproof her basement and prevent further damage.  

WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top. The TripleSafe sump pump system utilizes three pumps to remove excess water from the basement. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so the basement can remain dry, even when the power goes out. IceGuard is a simple addition to your already existing sump pump. It allows water to escape when the discharge line is frozen and prevents your basement flooding in cold weather. IceGuard is completely automatic, meaning after the initial installation, it’s done. Finally, an exterior discharge line is a drain installed leading to the low point of the property, sending water away from the home. Since the system is inside, there’s no dirt to clog it up and water is discharged effectively via the sump pump.
